as cows, the devs are lazy. 6 months, estimated is the time of allowed quafe, trading to become. Speed up, we must the process. Buy Aurum, the devs have pointed towards.

I would like to give my alts the quafe weapons I will never use.
But I know this will never happen.
Because it will stop players buying keys.
And if players stop buying keys and funding the game then who knows the outcome? |

I've stopped buying keys because you can't trade what you get. If I could sell my umwanted quafe gear and pirate skins I would buy more keys knowimg I could sell any duplicates.

Well, pirate skins are originally Box-Only, and now they're appearing in the DK Store.
I have no hope for Quafe popping up, but I hope at least player trading is released for it.

I don't think trading 'Quafe' Weapon BPOs will be happening anytime soon. There is money to be made with the purchase of keys from people trying to get their desired 'Quafe'. CCP needs to come up with something to make money specifically to replace 'Quafe' Weapons and soon because some of us have already got all our desired BPOs.
Also, I believe weapon BPO trading priority is going towards the weapons you actually purchase and not the ones from strongboxes; I'm talking about the 'Dren' and 'Covenant' BPOs. |

If we could trade them though... more people would buy keys KNOWING they could possibly trade the item for a nice chunk of ISK to the right merc. Maybe? Makes sense to me... but I am a bit weird..

Rattati already explained why this is going to take time.
They'll have to add a skin slot to weapons the same way they did with suits. This fact means we'll likely never be able to trade them.
I'm not sure why this needs to be done to allow them to be traded, but it is what it is.
Seriously, port it.

For this reason I can't wrap my head around the box skins not being tradeable. There's no telling how much money they've missed out on.

This just doesn't make sense.
People would buy more keys to get things so they can sell them for ISK. Most people who buy AUR will continue to buy AUR. Allowing the players who buy AUR to basically spend AUR for people who play the game for free is a net increase in revenue for CCP.
Same argument when talking about FW. People now buy lots of FW boosters so they can earn and sell more APEX suits. This would increase even more if they allowed trading of specialty FW items (uplinks, reptools, needles, etc).
CCP is sitting on a goldmine with Dust. It's a shame they'll likely never scratch the surface.
Seriously, port it.

'Quafe' Weapons BPOs have been building up in peoples inventory for quite some time now. If 'Quafe' Weapons were to become tradable the market would be flooded with them. Eventually people will buy the 'Quafe' Weapons they want and the market demand for those weapons will drop. Remember that we are talking about BPOs so once a person buys one they are not going to be interested in buying another of the same weapon; unlike Officer Gear which due to those items being consumable are always in demand.
What I think CCP should do is introduce Weapon Skins that can only be obtained through strongbox. Imagine being able to make your favorite Proto Weapon a 'Quafe' variant. Weapon Skins can serve as a money-making replacement for 'Quafe' Weapon BPOs. |

There are lots of people who don't open boxes, but they have ISK. There are people who don't use the keys they get from missions for whatever stupid reason.
I understand where you are coming from. It's obviously the viewpoint that CCP has, but it's shortsighted. Some people aren't going to spend money on Dust. Idiots like me, spend too much. If those people that don't spend money have access to the things you have to spend money on via trading, somebody else will use their $ to give it to them (for ISK of course).
The skin for weapons idea is the better idea as it expands the vanity options people have been craving. You'd end up with a quafe skin and a worthless weapon BPO just like suit skins after they've been "split".
Seriously, port it.

Oh, I wasn't meaning CCP split the 'Quafe' Weapon Skin from a Standard BPO Weapon like they did with those suits. What I am thinking is to allow 'Quafe' Weapon BPOs, as they are now, to be tradable and introduce Weapon Skins in the same fashion that we have Dropsuit Skins.
For example if I were to salvage a 'Quafe' Adv. Assault Rifle Skin it would just be a skin that I can only attach to Adv. Assault Rifles. There would be another 'Quafe' Weapon Skin that would work for Proto Weapons. A weapon skin slot in the fitting menu would have to be introduced.
And you are right about people buying keys specifically so they could sell the valuables they acquire from them. Also, when I think about it the market demand for 'Quafe' Weapons won't drop as much as I originally figured.
I used to live in Honduras for a little bit and I can assure you if I were still living there and making the wages a lot of the people I knew down there were making I would never spend any money on this game. When having to make the choice to purchase The Elite Pack or being able to eat for an entire month I would most likely side with eating.
Some countries cost of living and value of currency does not come close to matching some other countries so it ends up being a much greater sacrifice for someone of one particular country to buy Aurum compared to a person from some other particular country. |
