If you hate it remove it from your freaking queue.
The more people who do this, the more other games will spin up.
Literally that is the only fking way to make this happen.
Spread the word by any means necessary.

maybe we could remove domination by- no that is a TERRIBLE idea, we would be breaking many forum rules as well as the hearts of countless KD whores

I always set my queue to all 4 game modes every time I play. I was actually surprised because I played 4 matches and 3 were ambush, and 1 was skirm

Let's be honest here. All the KD whores move to AFW once FW opens up. Fish in a barrel doesn't even come close to describing it.

Are you sure? Because the amount of players actually playing dom seems to be low because of how few full teams are given in dom. Whereas normally when I do pub-skirm, it's almost always full. I'm pretty sure there's something screwy at work, but hey I could be wrong.
Did I mention the awful queue times for any other game mode? That's kind of important.

It takes 14 seconds to get a Dom. Let's not act like people are too stupid to avoid Domination.

The thing that bothers me more than anything about Dom is that once the point changes hands once the match is usually over. Someone can have the point until they are into your armor on the MCC, you take the point and then they are nowhere to be found. You get to look forward to 8 snipers taking shots at you.
Seriously, port it.

I do hate Domination, and I always queue Skirm + Acq.
This usually leads to me waiting at least 5 minutes for a match; more often I scotty out somwhere around 10-12 minutes wait and have to queue again. I'd say average wait time is around 16 minutes to get into a match, unless I luck upon an especially busy time of day.
This is on the European server. After timing out twice, I usually switch to the American server. There I can usually get games quicker, but it still takes 8 or 9 minutes most of the time.
Only if I can't get Skirms on the American server, and reeeeally want to play a match, do I queue up for Dom. After waiting for a total 30 minutes or more to get into a match I actually want to play, I then usually get a Dom match within a minute.
I'm of the especially stubborn persuasion, so I actually have the patience to do this regularly, in a vain hope that I'll help improve things. I do, however, think it's extremely unlikely that there are enough patient/stubborn players to improve this without either of the following happening:
- A massive influx of new players at the same time
- Some kind of help from CCP's side, perhaps not placing people in a Dom match until a minute of queuing has passed - if they have more game modes than Dom selected

Thanks for the advice, but I like Dom, so I'm not going to remove it 
However, for us sods that do have all four queues selected, it could be fun to play something else for a change...
I mean, that's the whole point of selecting all queues, right? Wanting to play more than one game type...
Perhaps CCP should introduce some weight system for the queue selection, so if you get placed in the same game type for several games, the odds getting it again is reduced (with increased waiting times as a result)?
Right now it feels like we are stuck in a catch-22. |
