lol My favourite gun game has always been sniping whatever game I played. So when I started playing Dust, of course, I got myself into the SNIPER-CA starter fit and went to the hills. Never having played combat in the game, I didn't understand the problem with that. I got bored sitting in my nest waiting for what I thought would be an endless stream of targets that I was going to dutifully take out for my team mates. Hardly any showed up. Some maps are great, but most are just awful.
So I thought I'd give combat a go. Being a complete noob, I had the usual problems with the matching system, and wondered whether I'd made the right move making the transition from sniper to cannon fodder. But some matches I found myself completely alone in my efforts to do anything useful, not a single blue in sight and one or two dotted over the map every time I respawned, so I grabbed my SR fit and went into the hills again, thinking I might be a bit more useful again.
And THAT'S where I found all the blues, up in the hills, with their SRs, waiting for that endless stream of targets, letting all the objectives just go uncontested while they sat there waiting for their targets.
How frustrating. |

1 dude is in the MCC
2 dudes are playing grabass at the resupply depot closest to the MCC
3 dudes are sniping and not hitting anything
2 dudes are each in advanced tanks with proto turrets, but they're too scared to leave redline so they rail snipe
1 dude is in a dropship doing suicide runs and trying to roadkill random infantry (even though he has a mobile CRU nobody ever, ever spawns on him)
1 dude is a cloak scout who goes all the way to the enemy deployment to poach a couple cheap kills
2 dudes are each manning the least strategic large gun installations on the map, hitting nothing (if they're lucky there may be an enemy gun installation or resupply depot they can blast for cheap WP)
3 dudes keep charging into the buzzsaw since the entire enemy team is guarding the one objective...While their determination is to be applauded, unfortunately they continually feed the enemy WP which will be used for orbital strikes later... |
