we need to boycott domination maps
the one where the objective is down a ramp with catwalks either side in that tiny building you drop down a hole? have you ever seen people push into that objective once the heavies and logis are camping the ONLY viable entrance? 1 out of every 100 games I'll bet!
What about the map with the pipes connecting the MCCs? have you played a game where the losing team DOESN'T hide on the roof the entire game? one out of every 100 games I'll bet!
played on the indoors map with the huge catwalk system on the roof? played a game where people DON'T camp on the roof? I'll bet nobody has EVER played a match where people don't camp on that roof.
these maps needs to be REMOVED or boycotted.
The only half-decent game I played today, seemed to be competitive, but then as soon as the winning team lost the objective, thet started backing out and hiding on the roof with mass drivers.
I am sick of all these cowards ruining this game to the point where I can barely play it, most games I leave because they're so one-sided they're decided within 60 seconds, most games of dom you NEVER take the objective back.
It seems to me that almost every DUST player is a coward, so almost every game I play is ruined by roof campers.
I'll keep complaining about it for as long as it's a problem, these maps need to be REMOVED or BOYCOTTED

My .02 isk on the "hole" map:
It's not who controls the point, but the 4-5 installations around it. With a spawn and resupply, they can get enough power lined up for a takeover while reducing the defending team's spawns to their mcc or base. In my experience, this will almost always lead to the team not being able to regain map control due to quitters and people generally giving up (like you said) due to the lack of map control. I think with 2 decent teams the map is relatively balanced, but how often does that ever happen? |

The underground objective changes hands quite often, and games where players make a successful push are some of the best domination games I've played. Granted it doesn't happen all the time, but I wouldn't say it's rare.
A combination of sentinels, logis, mass drivers, RE's and a flux OB normally does the trick. You don't even need all those elements at the same time. Grenades and nanohives works quite well too.
I've even played a game where three decent sentinels have simultaneously jumped into the hole at the back, when the enemy were distracted at the front entrance, and massacred everyone. |

In my opinion the "rabbit hole" map is a very good map and the only time a team isn't pushing is on that map at least is if they are down 2-4 guys.
Now as far as getting maps out of the rotation, I have a decent sized list and this includes: The Gallente surface research facility (Lag Facility), The turtle back/ half pyramid with the objective underneath, the Caldari production facility, and finally the train station.
My reasoning behind the Gallente Research Facility is that 1/2 games played on it will lag you out. At times getting 1-2 FPS.
Reasoning behind the turtleback/half pyramid is that it promotes camping on your side because of the short run and distance to the point from either side. As well as it's not very viable to be pushed once kicked out. NOTE: This is a domination only map however this structure can also be seen on bride maps or other skirmish maps.
My reasoning behind the Caldari Production Facility is that it promotes camping rather than pushing EX: The rafters, above the obj, as well as beside it.
Then the Train Station is generally occupied by half a team of jump modded up mass drivers and red line camping with ranged weapons (which you can't get to except by commiting suicide due to the new red line) .
But that's just my opinion
