I've been using the Quafe SG on my GalScout and I think it could use a slight damage buff. It's only really effective at 5m...

...and when I think Quafe NK's do 240 damage at 1.5m, it would make sense if Shotguns did 550 at 5m.
I might've got something mixed up here but I just got back from the crapper.

Dude, how am I supposed to stop my toilet now? The brakes were already worn, and now they are gone. Thanks guy.
Edit: I agree with the below statements. I used the starter fit and did pretty well with just the militia shotgun. It feels right to have the close range gun only work at close range. Plus, watching jumpers ragdoll before they get too far off the ground is a great feeling. |

No, Shotguns do not need a buff. They need a nerf so that there is a incentive to go proto and the Operation Skill needs to be changed.

I might've got something mixed up here but I just got back from the crapper. Shotguns are great and blasting shields, which is what they are supposed to do. They are anti-shield alpha weapons.
We have an anti-armor shotgun, it's called the burst hmg.

Standard variant has always been pretty sweet, the breach was a bit trashy (though I do love it) but is getting a solid, sensible buff...the only thing I could ask for is a single shot sabot-type that was effective against vehicles. But like that's ever going to happen, eh?

The only thing that should be improved on SGs is the damn hit detection....1/3 of my shots hit but don't deal any dmg. Plus whenever I get shot my SG can't shoot back under fire.... At least I pull the trigger and nothing happens. If I would have recorded all stupid moments I used the SG, I would be able to make a "bullshit-deaths-while-shotgunning" montage which would be by now about 2 hours long.... >:[

a buff? are you kidding me? the regular shotgun is way too ******* powerful.
also breach xcan do over 1000 headshot damage, now it's getting a clip and ammo buff
it IS getting buffed, if anything they should be tiered properly, the STD is too powerful./

Shotguns will kill anything with 2-3 well placed shots, they don't need a buff. If anything they could stand to get a range or damage nerf.
Mind you, I have shotguns as well, I have 12-13 full proto suits so I know what kills what .3.

Buffing the SG will make it OP. It is already OP. If the shotgun gets buffed, i am coming to your house, pissing on your mailbox, taking a deuce on yo front lawn and stomping on yo nasty ass couch. FUCKK YO COUCH!

I would like to see a "slug" variant of the SG. Something with more like 10 - 15m range and extreme fall off after that.
As far as buffing the SG in general I think a slight reduction to dispersion would do the trick. It is a bit annoying firing at around 6 - 7 meters and just kind of scratches the guy.
The only voice for a port is the voice of reason from money drying up.
More skins and 1% damage to keep Dust on PS3.
