I just linked this in another thread and was reading it again and saw something funny.

Quote:Salvage
Salvage is your final reward for battles fought. How you currently receive salvage is straightforward: Everyone who participates in a battle receives an equal opportunity to receive items from a single master loot table, regardless of their performance. This system is temporary, and serves as a stepping stone towards final implementation, which should prove far more robust and enjoyable.
Once complete, the full system will allow players to influence the quality and quantity of the salvage they receive. Play in a battle with more players and more destruction, and there will more to salvage, and victory earns you the lionGÇÖs share of the spoils. Equip modules that assist you in finding better salvage, and you will become much more likely to receive higher quality items, such as the rare Officer-tier weapons. Quality and type of salvage will also potentially differ based upon the planet you fight on, with rare gear most likely found on nullsec planets.
Yes we have achieved a better salvage system in FW and PC but why are pubs still based on YUCK. Also why are pubs the only place WB components are able to be gained?

Because you don't take components with you to the field and it's based off what is lost :D
In faction you fight for loyalty, in PC you fight for player made corps.
Pubs you fight contracts for companies, it would make sense that they send you an extra gift for fighting as "salvage"

I do not totally agree with you but a good explanation. For the record I would never expect components in PC as that just sounds like the new farm fest.
In FW you also fight for corps. Are you saying factional corps sell higher level gear that no one else in New Eden has access to but can not get warbarge components to reward people? Feels very odd to me.

FW already pays ISK+LP.. adding components into the mix sounds as farmable as if they are in PC.
FW - Click and Deploy PC - Build team, arrange attacks, work your ass of for a win (a lot of clicking before deploy)
If components were in more battles, should it be in the glorified pub match OR the supposed end-game mode ??
Better yet, neither, saying factions could have them (potentially a 24/7 farmfest) while the player corps putting effort in for battles (part-time farmfest) should not, is just biased because your scrubass can't/won't PC

FW is far from click and deploy and I am not saying it should be a set amount per battle or anything, just randomly dropped in.
The thing is FW is, as stated by CCP suppose to be the more "hard core" battles, so why would only those lower battles get what is arguably the best reward in the game.
