Some tank on 25% armour, flashing golden, but nonetheless I thought this is my chance, a couple of team-mate av-ers had died getting him down this far.
3 x lai dais, kla plasma, point blank...
Barely a scratch and off he drives with shooting me to death.

I'm calling absolute bull 
A 25% Amor tank, on a semi decent rep/hardner tank that's roughly 1500 Amor , even with dual hardners on it and good reps it cannot take that amount off punishment . I'm assuming as your using proto Av grenades that you are also using a proto plasma cannon .
So that's roughly
4500 damage from your Av nades
1690 from your alloteck plasma
= 6190
Even with 1 hardner on he's dead
Even with 2 he would only just survive in the 100-200 Amor area and as you state "barley a scratch" I dought its that fit
Even with 2 hardners he could be dead as you don't actually get a 80%reduction to damage.
Yes on the odd occasion a proto tank can take 3 Lia dia's and a plasma and only just survive but there is no way in hell it was just a scratch. And that's with full heath not 25%

They have to use BS numbers because the argument falls apart any other way.
A story about a tank rolling up to a flag and getting evaporated by lai dais through his hardeners isn't really a good story.

Sleek av grenades are fun to watch, have a stack chilling in the ground, then a vehicle rolls by, they leap up of the ground and fling themselves at the vehicle xD

I am surprised by the responses to this thread
occasionally I see low health tanks shrug off damage like a tank at 100%
I thought it was some sort of lag thing with the health bar
it is fully regenerated but you see 50% because of lag

There new players guys give them a break.
I have no problem taking down proto tanks with three lia dais and an allotek plc.
It just sounds like you had frame rate issues or only 1 of your point blank shots actually hit the tank and your nades were a miss.
You need to have strategy you can just charge them and open fire you will die a lot. Try getting them from behind toss out all three nades then shoot them with the plc they back up and kabooooom, they were then left wondering WTF just happened and not the other way around like you thinking tanks are OP.

I was about 5m from the tank as it was near one of our spawns - I thought it was in trouble which is why I spawned near it. Nothing missed.
It was someone from 3rd rock I think. On the bridge map. He went 25-0 or something similar. |

I know exactly what you are talking about and I have seen it too. When I see a tank on the field I always go after them to blow them up using Lai Dai's and a Plasma Cannon. In the past I have come across 2 or 3 tanks that would not sustain any damage whatsoever from my Lai Dai's. I even jumped on top of a tank one time to avoid it shooting me and to throw my Lai Dai's at it and the tank sustained no damage whatsoever.
I used to think it was stacked hardeners that kept those tanks from sustaining damage but now that I am reading in this thread comments from actual tankers saying that it's impossible for a tank with hardeners running to not sustain any damage whatsoever from 3 direct hits with Packed Lai Dai's it's making me think...WTF? |

Yes it was. If I recall there were 2 3rd rock guys at the top of the table at the end of the match.
I had a few attempts at kiling your tank, most of them complete failures before getting anywhere close, but if you are rememberng the same incident, to me the grenades hit. As did one plasma shot. Fairly sure it was south of the bridge at the socket with the road that dips down into a T. |

If I recall correctly you had both sides of the bridge but where failing dramatically. I was only in the tank for a short amount of time so there could of been several Av attempts that I don't know about. But the one i encountered was oy a single Av nade and a plasma also there was a crap load of caldari Av suits (easy kills with ma rail rifle)

I've seen it happen before. I kill tanks all the time with Lai Dais and a swarm, I get behind them fire the swarm and throw the grenades. The most common result is they go away with quarter armor and I get them in two more swarms, somtimes though they are already down to half armor and the same trick doesn't seem to even scratch their armor. I'm not missing and it usually works, but sometimes...

I do wounder why people often complain about them being hard to kill, its not like there REALLY expensive.
Seriously its about 1.3 mil for a good pro tank and alot of people ***** and moan they couldn't tank him with there 100k suit. Its not like this game is based around team work
