Blaming the PS3 for outright bad code is getting old. How is it that there are thousands of titles which operate perfectly fine on PS3 and actually do far more than Dust does.
Look at Madden for example. A full football stadium with fans plus 22 players on the field all running programmed routes and reacting to what a player does as well as generating fans, coaches, sidelined players, refs, cheerleaders, and probably some stuff that I am missing with pretty damn good detail.
Dust on the other hand can not handle a simple 32 players and a 90% static environment.
Maps are tens of thousands of square meters with what seems to be dozens of models all of them far out of the field of play.
Before skins even the most basic assets were supposedly crazy redundant for absolutely no reason but poor planning. VERY poor planning.
Restocking of assets requires opening a new connection to Tranquility in London no matter where you are in the world. In battle this should be proxied through the battle server to both optimize speed for the player and reduce load on the PS3. The PS3 was never known for having an amazing networking card.
Damage calculation was first put on the battle server all remotely and then made so wildly over complicated that it working at all is a bit of a surprise. Please note I have no way of confirming this but it seems to be the best accepted theory out there. This is also how damage is calculated on Eve. EARTH TO CCP -- This is a FPS on console not a button masher in space.
The user interface is wildly over animated. Even true damage numbers are almost never represented as you are playing thanks to it working to animate the bar scrolling down. Again this came from Eve and was just not a good idea at all, knowing your actual health while fighting is arguably the most important thing in a FPS that is meant to be "tactical".
There are plenty of other things that are just plain poorly done in this game either taken from Eve or only half thought out thanks to the old Dust team revolving around Team True Grit or whatever it was who went back and forth on Dust and Eve. This game was absolutely doomed from the start thanks to upper level management. This was the same type of decision making that lead to WoD never even making it to alpha status.
What is really a shame is that it took the most epic PR night mare ever for them to put someone worth a damn in charge of the game and sadly that was accompanied by a strip down of the team, a shut down of any client side updates for quite some time.
Hopefully CCP has learned the lesson that you have to get a game working first before you can start trying to implement things for the end of a "10 year road map". I guarantee you Eve did not start out with them saying "well we are going to need this later on so lets partially put it in now and then come back to it when it is time".
The only voice for a port is the voice of reason from money drying up. More skins and 1% damage to keep Dust on PS3.

PS4 - $400 PS+ - $50 Are you really going to pay $400 for 1 fuking game? No, you're not. PS4 - $400 PS+ - $50 4 NEW PS4 games - $240 (If they're priced @ $60 USD. Which most are because majority console community pays that $60 ' AAA quality ' instead of waiting for price drop). Total is: $690 ^ I can build you a PC with that price range lmao. That ******* price for a new console is why I didn't get a PS4 for Rock Band 4(Because I bought a X1 for the Kinect. (I like that ****). Damn ' Next gen ' crap gets too damn expensive for a ******* box. Then Pay2Play Online? The fuk outta here.
I just finished building a friend a sweet ass computer that ended up costing $320 with no video card. With regards to the video card you can go anywhere from $20 to $2000 for that. A basic acceptable card to run on medium settings would probably be in the area of an additional $150 making the total $470 plus your choice of keyboard and mouse.
Keeping the total on a PC under $600 is ridiculously easy these days.

Keeping the total on a PC under $600 is ridiculously easy these days. gtx 960 200 bucks and has 3 x the power of the ps4 gpu easy 6 core amd cpu runs under 100 ..and is stronger than ps4 cpu by leaps and bounds
Yeo the rig I just built for him was amd 6 core black edition in a micro atx case.
$100 for the CPU $57 for the motherboard $52 for a 120gb SSD $30 for the case (micro atx but fits atx size power supply) $37 for the power supply $27 for 4gb of ram
$303 Total and that case will fit a gtx 960 and the power supply is just above minimum spec required for the 960.
The Gigabyte gtx 960 is $190 on amazon making the total system cost $493 (or $520 with 8 gb of ram) and you can even grab an amazon prime trial and get it second day delivery for free.
I would game on that PC any day of the week.
