The hell is going on here?
The matches I played before I went to work today I was forced up against T.H.I.R.D.R.O.C.K which resulted in me getting sniped repeatedly by Saxonmish using a Thales. Why I am placed in multiple matches against those guys when I am just an average-skilled solo player is beyond me.
I now get home from work and the first match I play I am thrown against Dozermouse and his Fatal Absolution buddies; needless to say they ****** me up.
Who do you think I am, CCP? You think I am a god at this game or something? What do you want from me...my blood, sweat, and tears?
This MU ranking crap needs to be reworked because it clearly screws people over. -or- How about you metalock the matches to help level things out? -or- How about you remove squads from Public Matches?

Better question is why you dont just counter snipe him.
Are you ******* serious?
Thanks for the advice. Hopefully next time I will remember common sense counter tactics. |

Pubs should have never had squads. It's what allowed pub stomping in the first place. Several organized groups vs randomly matched people is a win button for the squads. Personally I think it's why this game never got popular.

Removing squads does not get rid of the team aspect in Public Contracts. No one is pushing for a Free-For-All gamemode.

Better question is why you dont just counter snipe him. First he had a thale which has the longest range (and knowing Saxon) it was either on a sentinel or a calmando so if he tried to countersipe Saxon would go even further into the RL or just quit sniping all together. You have no point made whatsoever Use a forge gun, or a militia rail tank, or dropship a heavy or shotgun fit onto his head? Even if you snipe at him with a militia rifle and he moves back into the RL farther or quits sniping, mission accomplished. He's now farther back in the redline, so your team is in less danger, or hes stopped completely, and so is no longer sniping. The point is nobody should ever be complaining about snipers. They are straight up the easiest thing in this game to counter.

I know it was kind of off topic, but dislike snipers that much (especially useless ones) that I am touched when I see it happen. And back on topic: I think a useful solution to pubs would be for CCP to add a new contract for solo players. SOLO CONTRACTS
- Solo players randomly get placed in teams of 16
- The game mode is random and cannot be selected (so that it doesn't take forever to matchmake and also doesn't lag the community out more with overload of content)
- This mode is the only mode where people have a chance of getting put in Ambush
- Add in the actual Orbital Strike component in our Warbarge that allowed us to purchase them since not many people running solo will be able to get 3.2/4k wp to drop an orbital.
- OR.....Give us single precision orbital strikes for 400wp a piece (precision strike amount negotiable)
- Also turn Friendly Fire on in this contract.
PUBLIC CONTRACTS
- Get rid of Domination (yes I said it) and just increase the amount of points needed to win Acquisition but make the objective move around more (to fully utilize all the panels on the map)
- DO NOT allow solo players into matches (it will get rid of any complaining AND utilize the whole reason for reducing squad sizes to 4 players)
- Remove Ambush from Public Contracts
FW and PC stay as they are.Just a helpful thought for CPM/CCP
I like everything except for the friendly-fire part for Solo Contracts. |

You can't complain people who squad up always smack you if you don't want to squad up. As I have have said for a while now, it's not the squad thats the problem, the fact that they can just use seemingly unlimited amounts of proto gear against guys in standard and advanced is.
Meta level lockouts need to be implemented for it to be more balanced cos proto gear can give a significant advantage.
A lot of people do not have time to devote to running in a squad. A lot of people also don't like a squad determining what gamemode they are going to play, when they are going to play it, and what strategies to use during the match.
Some of us also don't like the fact that the majority of squads act in the interest of their squad instead of acting in the interest of their team.
I ******* hate squads in this game because for some idiotic reason people in this game think that simply being in a squad makes you a team player more so than the actions you take in the match itself.
Now I am all for a metalock with the matches.

Brother, I feel your pain. At the start if games I'll run my most expensive suit, almost adv. level gear in all slots (no proto yet). Its the kit that I get the most WP with lately so I'll try not to die at all. I can square off against most people, retreating if out ranged and stomping if they are within. Then I'll go up against a player where I get the drop, unload half a clip before they bunny hop away and put me down in less than 2 seconds of fire. They end up with half hp even after me getting the drop. This happens so often, I can instantly call proto and sure enough proto suit and weapon. And for some reason THIRDROCK has been doing this often lately. SKILL OF GOD is another I've noticed almost every day a few players proto stomping. My highest MU is 34, and it's an APEX that was gifted to me. Of my real suits, it's a 31. What are the MU of some proto fitted players? I'm curious of the difference. You mean meta level not MU. My full decked out MK.0 has a meta level of 64 I think the highest is 70 (just a guess)
Meta Level does go higher than 70. I just checked my suits and I have a Proto Logistics at 74, a Proto Assault at 75, and both my Scottsman Officer Suit and Rattati's Officer Suit show 78.
I think 78 might be the highest meta level you can get. |

The game needs a devoted soloist mode without squads, where soloists can destroy each other amidst the chaos of non-communication. I'd play that exclusively. To often people give up simply because they see a Corp squad on the other team. Even when in a squad I hear them say over com's " oh great it's ( place Corp name here ) I'm gonna snipe " Ive said it a million times, your on a team squad or not. Squading give a very big advantage even with cheap suits. Meta locking won't stop it. Your personal ability to adapt in all situations should be what determines how well you do, not if your on a squad with glass cannons.
This is true. I was in a squad once playing Factional Warfare and right at the start of the match someone in the squad looked to see who we were up against. After realizing we were going against really good, squaded-up players this person asked us if we wanted to just drop out of the match instead of playing. I was befuddled after hearing this for two reasons: 1) we had not even completely deployed into the match and this guy is already asking if we wanted to quit, and 2) we were in a full 8 man squad in this Faction Warfare match which means if we all quit we would be completely ******* over the 8 other people on our team. |

Meta level lockouts need to be implemented for it to be more balanced cos proto gear can give a significant advantage. How is it organized if your pitting random players that just happened to squad up against players that simply don't play the game unless they play with their mates in a squad ? That's not the answer and it's amazing when people try to defend this broken mechanic . You cant replace or mimic the time and familiarity that known squads have , they have an understanding of who their playing with , their strengths and weaknesses as well as being familiar with what their skilled in and what they specialize in . You cant compete with that I don't care what hypothesis you try to come up with . Random players don't play well if their not striving for the same goal and even so , you still have major hurdles to overcome . That's no where near balanced and that's why I just don't put too much stock in those who do youtube that break off 30 , 40 and 50 /1 matches because if you were to place most of these people in a solo scenario , they would be garbage and if not , no where near as efficient as they are inside that squad setting . K/D means nothing in this game and truly is an inflated stat because of the squad factor and playing with those whom you are familiar with , clearly that has a major advantage over random players or players that try to emulate that style but don't have the knowledge , experience or the patience to learn the others in their team . What I just don't understand is , if these players are so competitive ... then why not just lobby for a more balanced system .?. why keep things the way that they are and then come to the forums or be in-game like your this machismo that can stomp all alone or talk about the fact that your too OP because of ... when if your doing this against random players , don't you feel that you have a distinct advantage by playing with people that your so familiar with , while going against random players because in PC matches , which most youtubers don't show ( not just talking about them because I'm mentioning them , except DAAA BEAST .. ) , you / they wouldn't be anywhere as near as efficient in that setting , so why wouldn't you as a competitive player want to play in that type of setting or a system that would produce more even matches .?. but yet no one talks out about how broken this system is , not the CPM , not the GM and not your precious Rattati . It is broken and it should get attention so that it can be fixed , clearly there are mismatches and disadvantages aplenty . I never said have random people squad up, I said squad up with people you like playing with. That is a very distinct difference. Also if random solo players don't want to play as a team and just want to run around like headless chickens doing their own thing that is there choice...
I put in bold what you typed that pisses me off and let me tell you why.
For some reason you think that if I am running solo that I am not acting accordingly to benefit my team in a match. That right there is ********. I have enough situational awareness in this game to assess what my team needs based on what I see them trying to do and what I know they need to do. I do not need someone to constantly hold my hand and guide me into what I should be doing in a match.
Also, joining a squad does not in any way mean that you are playing as a team. With my experience being in a squad and playing with/against squads I have noticed that squads act in the best interest of the squad, not the team. I see squads abandon blueberries constantly leaving them to get slaughtered instead of jumping in and helping them survive. Most squads don't know a damn thing about working as a team. |

128? Good gracious!
I figured 78 was it because both my Officer Suits were at that level and they are set up in completely different ways. |
