It took me a long time to squad up for the first time in this game and after I did I found that joining a squad is usually fun. After awhile though I pretty much stopped joining squads.
The reason I stopped joining squads is because when I am solo I tend to play 1 match and then take a 10 to 30 minute break before I queue for the next match. When I am in a squad I'm not able to just relax and play a match when I feel like it. Squads became a burden to me because it made me feel like I was being forced to adjust my life just so that I could commit to a squad for more than 1 or 2 matches.
For those of you who normally lead squads/run in squads how would you feel if someone joined your squad and then quit after 1 match? Would something like this upset you people?
I would like to run in squads more often but not at the expense of my freedom. |

If I'm running pub squads, I have no issue with players dropping in or out after each battle.

I usually run solo myself but squad with my Corp. If someone random happened to join, then left after a match or two, to me personally, it's not a big deal. Sometimes things come up or a break. Usually if it happens in ours, we just send out a RF or look for someone with a LFS. Granted, it puts your squad one down, but most players have multiple setups, so they can adapt to a missing link. But that's my opinion.

Well, people do it all the time. If you're just looking for a quick little game, sure. If it's a serious squad (or at least a squad that wishes to be consistent) then you probably won't be able to join as they'd have them lock.
And it's okay if they feel like a burden... If you found a good group of friends, you can just hand out with them in squad. When I ran squads in my day, I would go with the mood usually. If players wanted to have fun, we'd have fun. If they wanted to slaughter, we'd slaughter. If we're being serious, it's deadly serious.

People better get used to me dropping in and out of their squads. Since I freeze every three matches if I don't turn the game on and off.

Personally I love squads that run back to back games. I get on to play and squads that take 10-15 minutes to start between games are not what I enjoy.
That's a personal opinion though, and the reason I run solo a great deal. I have group of friends I squad with nearly every night for a couple hours and I enjoy the social aspect of that squad. So, my suggestion is find a group that shares your view on the issue and start sqauding with them on the regular. It took me months to find the group I enjoy playing with, so it may take a while, but its worth it. |

Most squads shouldn't care it's the mic only squads that come up with strategies that really care so watch out for those if your going to quit after a match or 2. Also I like the idea of squads for the same reason you don't like them as it gives a consistency to matches and lets you meet new people that may or may not do things you do.

I can't stand the squads that play matches back to back, and you find they've already deployed by the time you get back in your MQ. I like to take a break between matches too. I suppose I don't mind if someone leaves the squad to have a break, but if you were to squad with me you'd probably find that I still hadn't requeued by the time you got back.

The squads I join run back to back most of the time, though some time we get carried away with the bullshitting and won't q-up for a bit. Even with the back to backs, nobody minds if you miss part of a match or the whole thing. I myself often make it back to the controller as it's getting ready to kick me from the match, sometimes I don't make it.
And if you've gonna be afk for more than a match or two, say so and bye then drop out and you'll get picked back up if there's room. Sometimes room will be made if there's an annoying random.
I know when I'm squad lead it doesn't much matter to me. Just as it doesn't much matter what fit people run, as long as it works for them it works for me.

I would like to run in squads more often but not at the expense of my freedom. So basically you queue up immediately after battle?
I like squads that have a general strategy, but those that are filled with the "why didn't you die for me" types i opt out of.
And unless they're willing to cover me while i do my logi work i leave too. I expect some support at least.
And since most pub squads ignore logis until they need reps (at which point i died long ago),i generally run solo to great effect.

I prefer back to back, but you can't expect randoms to stick around. Just say bye before you leave, and drop squad at EoM.

When i'm doing FW I want a search to be queing after this damn defeat screen or victory screen because it takes so long to que them... (This is why I normally don't squad with my corp/alliance members they take forever) but if it is pubs then I really don't care. Do what you must... I can wait...
