I'm not asking for help because I do know how to tank. I'm saying as a tanker, these are O.P.
Real tankers know how to make the rail turrets miss.
Not OP at all when they can't hit the broad side of a barn at 20m.

Leave before your hardeners turn off?
Kill the turret first before you yolo into the enemy.
I was going to make a sarcastic post about if anyone wanted to bet if you got nuked on a bridge map, but thought I was being presumptuous. Should have gone with my gut.
Yeah, turrets are fine, you just need to keep them in mind. They are not lethal unless you screw up, not because they are OP.

Just wanted to add, that saying an installation is always in the way, especially since, you know, it can't exactly get up and move on you to block your retreat, is a sign you might not be thinking this through.
On the bridge map, you have 3 or 4 good lanes to use to advance and retreat through that keep you out of line of sight from the rail turrets. So that even if you can't destroy them right away, you can avoid 95% of the threat. Just takes a slightly longer thought process than activate hardeners and chugga chugga blaster shots until you get exploded.
But as a general rule, when playing pubs, pop all the turrets as soon a s possible to minimize the chances of a reddot back hacking one on your side when you are not ready for it.

Rail turrets still have to track, and fire until they overheat. They don't hold their fire until they have a good shot, and aim for the centre point of the hull.
It is very easy to make them miss.

I tank full time. In pubs, in PC, in FW.
You don't tank, you just drive one, and from the content of your posts, you do it poorly.
Rails are fine, you just need to learn situational awareness and how to drive around the maps.

I remember that one great tank battle I had against you a while back..... best fight I've probably found in another tanker.
Was it on Manus peak? I have a memory of tangling with you and someone else on that map not too long ago.
I try and give my all as much as possible, even though my wallet hates me for it. Go hard or go home is the only way to tank in my eyes. If you pull that lazy crap in pubs, when a real fight shows up you get caught flat footed and owned.
