Hey everybody, I am planning to do another Heracles Speaks soon and I would like to do a piece on scammers. It's mostly going to be common sense advice stuff and links to jadek's trello, but if you guys have an input on how to keep individuals or the Dust community at large safe from scammers let me know. In fact any and all feedback on this topic is welcome. Thanks.

The best way so far is to sign up on http://dust514gtc.enjin.com/ and become a member there. We're doing a lot to make this scam free and even made a new innovative way to trade(we also trade by isk if you don't feel like trading via point system).
Now 100% Scam Free
P.S. It would be great if you could put the website as a link as we need to reach more people.

How are you tracking website credits? Some sort of manual or automated system. You're trading in a crypto-currency, are you planning on changing the exchange rate based on the number of site credits in circulation?

Right now its part of an automation system by completing certain pre determined things but we also give them out manually if you trade in the forums. We're trying to get away from using isk but we understand that not everyone will be interested in a new type of currency if you will so we leave isk as an option.
Some of the ways to get credits include but aren't limited to being active every week, signing up for the first time, or helping out with new members.

You are giving preferential access to a cypto-currency that is redeemed for ISK or In-game items that players who work for you get a higher share of.

The crackdown on Twitch stream RMT might draw a similarity to earning crypto-currencies.

CCP Falcon posted in the news channel about a change in the policy covering the monetization of EVE Online by video makers. Besides renaming the policy to the "Monetization of Videos and Streaming Policy", CCP added the following language:
"Videos and streams may also not be used to generate real world revenue by offering in-game ISK and/or assets as incentives to subscribe to a paid service such as a Twitch channel subscription or other subscription service.
"If in-game assets are used in giveaways to promote popularity of a stream or video, there must be full parity between users who are viewing the content for free and those who are subscribed, and all viewers of content must have the same access to giveaways and the same chance to win prizes regardless of any subscription fees paid.
"Use of in-game assets for subscription-only based prize draws and incentives constitute real money trading (RMT). This is against our policies."

Best way to avoid scams is to not trade until we get a real trading mechanic in game. What we have now is a joke.
