Every gamemode is better and yet that SOB is still the most common.
Could it be a case of people having already gone there long ago, and so the system keeps putting them there because that's the mode where there are the most people by default?

I think that StoneSmasher has it right- for whatever reason, it has the shortest deploy time, so most people play it. As for newberries who don't touch their queue settings and leave it as a default "all", they'll get thrown in because Dom matches tend to have more "spawns" than other modes.
That said, it also might be that some (most) people are just ridiculously impatient, as usually I only have to wait 1-2 minutes to queue for a Skirmish match; OTOH, I also have my queue set for only Skirmish, because 90%+ Dom matches are one-sided stomps, Acquisition is the same way 70%+ of the time, and I despise Ambush with a fiery passion that is eclipsed only by my love for the Empire and gorgeous Amarrian babes.
Personally, I would support Dom being removed/replaced with something better. Acquisition seems like it has good potential, and Spambush is, well, Spambush, while Skirmish is my favorite (and IMO a classic). Maybe bring back a proper attack/defense mode?

I have all game modes checked on the NA server and every night I get a pretty good mix of game types. It may just be the server and times you are trying to play. |

I play on the NA server as well, and when I check Skirm/Dom/Acq (I hate Ambush, have I mentioned that?), I get mostly Dom, with a little Acq and maybe the odd Skirm.
Usually queue times are 30-90 seconds, IIRC, whilst queuing with only Skirm checked generally takes 1-3 minutes- today, for example, I was routinely getting into a match after sitting in the queue for ~1-2 minutes. Considering that I vastly favor Skirmish even when it's a stomp, I consider the extra wait time worth it.
Also, Dom sucks, I hate Ambush, and Acquisition is a cool concept but seems to be poorly executed.

Ambush is complete trash. (They ruined it after Chromosome)
Acquisition is poorly implemented. (Still subject to stomps)
FW may as well be punishing the losers. (Stomps, wait times, team killing: unrewarding mess of a mode)
PC is a cesspool. (No shows, samey same optimal tactics, second job mentality)
But for some reason, people want to single out Domination for being "trash..." Newsflash: The entire game is bonkers. Every mode is lackluster. Every. Single. One. Open your god damned eyes.

For it to be so popular, practically every dom is short at least four players from the start (which never fill/refill) and one side is pretty much guaranteed to not even try for the majority of the match. Baffling.

Dom is popular for 2 reasons :
- You have 10 times more chances to find a dom match than finding any of the 3 other modes. So as nobody wants to spend 10 minutes Qing...
- All the cowards love dom because it's excellent for camping. |

Well,let's compare.
Skirmish:Multiple points,hard to coordinate,lack of support from allies during crucial battles.
Ambush:Same as above minus multiple points.
Dom:Allies attention is focused into a central area,meaning coordinated attacks tend to flow naturally. And the only general crucial battle is going to/at the point.
Acq:Same as skirmish
Tl;dr Because it's easier to win.

When you are in a team with competent people. Unlike other gamemodes you can't carry the team on your back. If the team overall is bad compared to their oponents then they have lost.
Losing in Domination is very rarely a close situation. Usually the match is decided in the first minute and a half. With the other gamemodes you can edge out a personal victory and maintain your dignity even when the team loses. In Domination that's almost impossible unless you are red line sniping from the start.

And as a matter of fact, I hold a very high opinion of Hern+ín Cort+¬s. He is of course the father of the Mexican people, and is partly responsible for the language, culture, heritage, sciences and art of M+¬xico. He is also responsible for the majority faith which binds Mexicans of skewed ethnicities together. There is no country known as Mexico without Hern+ín Cort+¬s. So, for him I am thankful.
The Aztecs were nothing more than a small hallmark of what warring people of the desert brought to the valley of M+¬xico. It was a short empire that left an artistic footprint and culture. The latter being extensively ripped away from modern Mexican though, and therefore naively looked to as great, and yet they clash abhorrently with contemporary views of most Mexicans.
The Aztecs terrorized a large portion of native Mexicans, and this systematic terrorism led to many native cultures uniting with the Spanish to overthrow the Aztec Empire so as to end their system of perpetual ritualistic warfare.
The idea of perpetual war actually compliments Dust 514 very well.

The armaments of the Aztec's were actually less developed than those of other Mexican tribes because their weapons were made to wound rather than kill. This was because they tried to capture people alive to sacrifice them in rituals.
A few tribes were actually starting to develop metal weapons of copper and gold.

Everything you said sounds like it was ripped from the mouth of someone from the NSDAP back in the day. (Specifically the use of " weaker", can't cite specific speeches and documents, though...,)
Anyway, please do more research into the matter: the Aztecs and other indigenous cultures that were " wiped out" were more advanced than the Spaniards, et. al in many ways.

I always wondered how the region would have developed had the conquistadors not interfered. How would society progress?
Certainly there would have come an end to the fighting between the Aztecs and the other cultures, either through total assimilation or through a violent uprising to end the Aztecs... Fascinating to think about.
What would the Americas look like if it were free to develop and advance like Europe and Asia were allowed to? I smell a cool game/movie/book...
