I really don't get the reason you are upset. A tournament for EVE online is focused on EVE online?

Look EVE online has its events and DUST has its events, but they share a storyline. The Amarr event we just had was focused around the same lore events that the later Amarr tournament is going to focus on.

Meanwhile EVE players as a whole are not getting any player-wide gifts / items for the event of the empress dying. They get to experience the story line in space, but we have to accept that DUST in it's current form has no real ability to let players run the story segment of a singular event without it being a much larger "war".

We also have no idea if there -will- be anything relating DUST side once the tournament comes around, or if there will be other events to compare that we get. We may get something as well, just not a tournament that requires months of prep time.

Sorry to hear that. As much skepticism I had for what you were trying to accomplish with Vader's Fist and One Universe/One War you were fighting a good fight to strengthen the development of both communities. It's a disappointment that this call to at least recognize the Dust community in a meaningful way 'appears' to be falling on deaf ears.

Lol, EVE has always been a game that rejects 90% of its player base. That's why they can never raise their customer base very much and most players are just passing through. Only the diehard swampass nerdcorps stick to that game for any length of time.


Anybody that already has a first life doesn't need a game that is based on a second life.


Seriously, the people like the Mittani that get famous and a lot of gamers look up to is just pathetic in my eyes. How in the world can you put so much time into a video game to get to the point these guys do? It's a sickness. I feel for their families. I spent only one eighth the time on EVE and it was enough to begin effecting my family life.

As is mentioned on posts for that youtube video, the EVE community is toxic. The game promotes that behavior to its detriment and this game was becoming just as toxic right up to the point it got cancelled and all the jerkwads either left or no longer had any real reason to worry about anything.

So, yeah. You and I are counted out. Real encouraging isn't it!

You know, you could host your own tournament in their favor. CCP is big on community events. While its not a big shiny thing that the EVE Devs are offering, at least you could hold a big prize to the winning team. Or something. I'm sure tournament isn't something hard to come up with. And it would shake the latter, as it were, to let the guys higher up know that we're still here.

Or Even better....

In defiance. Start holding public executions of all Amarrian DUST Mercenaries, in protest that those who fight with guns in their hands will never be forgotten. Because we fight where it counts.
