These are your problems and your problems start by using the Python , it's a hit and run machine and the fact that you only have one low slot , doesn't leave much for the imagination .
Shields go and so will you , typical of anything Caldari and one of the reasons why I say everything that works in EVE just doesn't translate to Dust .
Borderline OP nature keeps the Dev's from being innovative because they just don't know how to distribute CPU / PG in a way as to not lead anything Caldari to being that way .
You could have all the slots in the world with all the options and if you can find a middle ground via CPU / PG , you wouldn't have to worry about anything being OP .
One of the reasons that now most roles have the same CPU / PG and to me that restricts more then creates an environment of creativity .
Shield tanks suck because of this as well as the ADS , if I were you I would start by flying Gal ADS .
Take at least a month of straight flying to figure out the little things to keep you in the air until you become more efficient .
It's not hard but it won't be easy either because you have zero experience .
Don't add on to the problem by claiming something to be OP because you see " experienced " pilots saying this , I have shot down most claiming and to show this , I will reskill into vehicles myself as to show that I'm not just talk , you need the experience so that you would know what to do in what situation and how to avoid problems .
Most people claim AV is OP because they really want to farm infantry , once you get better you will see this yourself because once you try to confront another ADS , they will run for the hills ... I see this all the time and I just don't chase , I see all these " pilots " talking about how good they are and trying to give advice but in the air , their cowards .
I use my ADS to protect my troops from vehicles and not to farm infantry .

Vesta Opalus ( excuse the mis-spelling ) already set you straight and that's the problem with most who talk about AV vs Vehicles , their bias and the fact that they have no knowledge in AV or very little experience to not have a bias view in this regard .
How many times has weapons , mods and roles been changed because if the bias of the community and their inexperience in that said feature that their trying to change ?
How many people come to the forums to complain about items because they died and more or less expressed bias and not a willingness to compromise for balance sake ?
You don't agree with me so your point is invalid .?. is that adult .?. remember if anyone defends this you already know that their wrong .?. OP check the swarm thread in the idea section , talk to people who actually play or specialize in AV , they might know what their talking about and could give you some pointers to help you survive .
I'm not going to tell you what to do , I could only give you suggestions from my experience .
I wish Vesta was on the CPM because it seems like he doesn't have his head up his @$$ and reflects both sides of a situation , people like that are problem solvers because they put knowledge , experience and wisdom before their own wants and desires and in fact , people like that for the most part want the best outcome out of most situations because they know how to lay ego aside .
