Is actually quite amazing. Given it should have been like this from the start but I'm not one to complain. |

Hmm? It doesn't really add anything except re-colored enemies, and a handful of new areas, weapons, blah, blah, blah. Same as every other DLC. Oh, yeah, new class.
The reason why I didn't like the release of Destiny is because of the story. They completely ruined it. Believe it or not, it actually had an interesting one before release. We didn't have those cards telling you about stuff. Everything was in-game.
What makes this new expansion better than the rest? Does it justify paying a ridiculous price for it?

It's worth the 40 bucks in my opinion.
The story was lacking, yes. And they have most certainly addressed this problem. Lots of cutscences, the taken are pretty cool, 4 new strikes, changes to the old strikes. Not to mention, throw out all your old gear, cause this feels like a brand new game. Just so much content. It's worth 60 bucks not the 40 they are charging.
This time, it's not just a rehash of the old. And the story is all there, told through the missions and quests. They got it right this time. |

And people say ccp is bad... |

I think you mean 100 bucks, you paid 60 for the game itself - and now you're paying 40 to include the story.
and I hate every single person who purchased the DLC - you're encouraging companies to milk it's player-base with half-completed games so they can cut them up and market them to you slowly as an 'experience'

Actually, it's up to $140 now. I've spent more on a year of WoW and a hellva lot more on this game. And I thoroughly enjoy it, grind and all.
I really honestly was never interested much in the story, which is largely the root of many peoples complaints. It's all about that end game. I've ran the vault soo many times, the strikes, ect, and loved every minute of it. I've played the PvP aspect and did rather well with it.
I enjoy the gameplay, and am thankful they don't use micro transactions or a periodic subscription for the content. Agreed though that the last 2 expansions (never played wolves myself) were lacking and not exactly worth the price, which is why I stopped for a time playing.
Yet it isn't for everyone, like most games. If you enjoyed vanilla destiny, you're gonna love the taken king. Not so much an expansion but a whole new game.

Bungie trying to make the taken king seem so good that its worth $140 lol. Not paying gbp for that.
I've not been taken anywhere btw.

I am actually enjoying it more than before.
Also those are are crying of them making it to milk more money and that it was unfinished, there is a bit more to it.
Taken King was originally going to be another DLC and not an expansion. However there was problems with Peter Dinkalage. He was monotone and was not the best voice actor for ghost. One of the biggest complaints Bungie received (next to lack of lore in the story) was Ghost and Dinkalage. So they recasted Nolan North for the role of Ghost.
The problem was that Dinkalage had a contract with Bungie for Destiny for all the dlcs. To get around it, they reworked the game entirely adding things (more than the expanded story). Technically Destiny is now Destiny 2.0: The Taken King.
I do agree with everyone though that they should of done all of this in the first place, however if you buy the Taken King, without owning Destiny before hand (like me, played it on my mates XB1), you still get the game plus previous DLCs and The Taken King expansion.
