The sentinels are all defensive suits. This why there's hmgs and forge guns. One to decent against enemies coming to you in which you can mow them down and the other to scare away vehicles with great Alpha damage. The commandos are the offensive ones, working closely with assaults, much faster than sentinels. How they defend/offend all depends on thier race. For example-
The Gallente sent- point defense. It's great for cqc, arnor tank and rep, and fast to get from point to point (with Kincat/rep/ferroscale combo)
The galmando using the same combo, is pretty much a tanked assault. It has more hp than my pro galass, it's just as fast without Kincat, but less rep at exchange of more armor. But it fits as a heavy assault role.

the gallant are all about speed tanking, armor tanking, and rep tanking. i fit all my gal fits with some sort of combo that includes a knit, a ferroscale to keep knit bonus, and a rep. yes its very effective. most notably on the commando. its just as fast as an assault, has almost 600 armor, and 14.35 reps. not to bad for a heavy with 1 rep. and at the cost of extreme damage anyways. you should try it. very effective
