So last night I finally hit loyalty rank 13, Marshal.
I've been playing for over 2 years, have millions and millions of lifetime war points, 40000ish lifetime kills, currently over 400 days consecutive logins, and most importantly have spent insane amounts of money on aur. I couldn't even give you a total, but easily 1500 to 2000 dollars since I started playing. How much more loyal can a merc get right?
Well, when I look at the requirements for loyalty rank 14, (over 2million points) I realise I will never reach it. It's impossible unless I wanted to drop thousands and thousands more on this game, and I can't even begin to imagine what the requirements for rank 15 will be, so ccp, I ask you reduce the requirements to make it something that's actually achievable. I'm not saying make it easy for anyone to reach, it should be quite an achievement, but as it stands right now it's bordering impossible.

As it stands all the loyalty rank stuff is pretty much impossible to get unless you spend Aur. You get a mere 0-5 points for a battle. 5 for login once per day. The exact math involved is iffy for battle rewards. You don't always get a point, even if you earn some WP and stay with the battle the entire time. I used to think it was 1 point for joining, 1 point for winning and 1 point per 500 wp but that doesn't always seem to pan out to be true.
Not to mention occasionally I log in and notice myself hundreds of points back of where I was due to some glitch. I even made a thread about it ages ago and no one with any authority commented.
The whole loyalty rank thing really sucks for new people because it's something like 2000 points to hit rank 1 and then either 3 or 4k more for rank 2. You have to be at least rank 2 before you can trade items. Think about it that's hundreds of days of login in, or some where around 600-700 battles of earning 5 wp each time, not something that's easy to do if you have few SP and are running around in starter fits.
From day one it's always been the only way to earn rank is to spend Arum, nothing else really matters. This character was made back in the beginning when all we had was ambush to play. Even with a few months break here and there I have 66 million SP. Yet I'm only sitting at rank 5, and been working on rank 6 for something like half a year or more. I've put thousands, if not millions of hours into this game over that 2 to 3 years dust has been out. Yet I'm not even half as loyal as the OP apparently because I've only spent maybe $100 on this game.

First, grats, you are the first R13 Marshal I've heard of.
I know exactly how you feel. I too feel slightly nauseous about the amount I've spent (choices, that's a different story). Some 1500-1600 euros during the course of 3,5 years. Chases are if I've gotten there first, I'd be the one writing your post with exact same words.
And while I do agree that the amounts are ridiculous, and yes the R14 let alone R15 might be unreachable for any sensible AUR-for-use purchase,
Why would we have to reach the final rank after all?
Wouldn't it be cool to always have something ahead of us, especially considering the fact that when one reaches any peak with no higher to go, it is a very dulling thing to have nothing more to go for.

A completely unachievable goal is even more dull, frankly.

Not only is it 1400 days of doing that, it's doing that with an absolutely extraordinary standard of performance.
THIS ISN'T EVEN THE HIGHEST RANK.
Such a system is completely ludicrous.
Of course, the system is actually designed to be exclusively dominated by those paying money, so let's have a look at that.
To get over 2 million LRP requires well over 4 million AUR.
This is equivalent to 20 elite packs, or $2000.
For what isn't even the highest rank.

The cool down going from 9% to 10% on the warbarge is over 9 months long or 1.2 million components meaning that buying just that should get you to the next level.

you could bring a titan pilot to level 5 titan for all 4 races + all level 5 support skills across the board faster than you can go up a loyalty rank past 10 without spending hundreds of bucks of aur
and the years of subscription required would probably be cheaper too |

That is not even the maximum rank.
