Commandos have gotten two buffs since their inception: they have the highest armor regen of any suit, and recently have had their walking speed buffed some. These are steps in the right direction, but we have a glaring issue: shield commandos are still subpar to the armor commandos.
As you can see by this spreadsheet, commandos are in all ways inferior to their sentinel counterparts. This is not so bad for the Gallente and Amarr commandos since their main tank is in their armor, but it really hinders the Minmatar and especially the Caldari from really dedicating to their shield tanks, especially in conjunction with shields being underpowered (soon to be fixed hopefully) This is a problem, because it encourages dual tanking over dedicated shield tanking, and it means that sentinels not only have more shield health to start with but also recover that shield far quicker.
All I ask is to have Commando shield stats at least match their sentinel counterparts. They have less health, which is good, but they should be able to recover that health as well as, if not better than sentinels.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

I am tired of raising this issue.
I am tired of reading about this issue.
I am tired of devs acknowledging the issue and then not doing anything about it.
Everyone knows that's shields haven't been touched since uprising 1.0 and that they need to be looked at.
I'm just tired of the lack of progress in general. |

It is seriously better at this point to just give up on shields and run armor, unless you are happy sitting in the redline. Perhaps one day there will be more balance, but with jump mods sitting in high slots, pg chips moving to high slots, damage mods in high slots, the logical thing to do is use a suit (or vehicle) that tanks out its low slots. You can even make the armor suits faster than the shield suits due to the number of low slots.
Shield suit or Vehicle - Redline Armor suit or Vehicle - Play the game
Lets not pretend minmitar are shield suits.. the highs are either jump mods or damage mods. |
