Swap to active scanner, tap r1 to engage the scanner. The scanner then continuously scans for its scan duration, only highlighting things while they are in its cone of effect.

You cant find him with scans, and he should be able to detect most scouts that try to find him. Hmm, guess where he is NOT? He's not at the point. He's no longer an extra gun. He has to actively use his active scanner. Already how it is. Find him and kill him. Or... keep making qq threads.
You just switch for a second and then switch back, not really keeping you off the point or from being an extra gun.
Though Ghost was wrong, that fit (20.49dB) still can be scanned by anyone with a Duvolle Focused (20dB). So I don't know who would use it.
Edit: oh and its passive won't pick up any scouts with a single damp on past 7m.

True, it would be. Not much can compete with the eye of sauron, except this one can't see the cloaker, so there's that.

According to anything I can find at the moment ties go to the scanner and have for a long time. Also turns out they supposedly round the profile so the decimals in my earlier comment are irrelevant; of course that's under the assumption that the rounding is actually taking place (certainly wouldn't be the only thing not working as intended). If that's the case then almost all of that comment is irrelevant depending on whether or not the tie goes to the scanner.
Edit: Here's a biomassed article from 4 months ago that asserts that ties go to the scanner.

If the scanned unit is damped below the scanner there's no error and no detection.
I find that hard to believe but would be willing to test it in fw with anyone interested.
