Aussie here also :)
300ms delay is normal for me. 0.3 seconds. It doesn't usually get better than this, only worse.
Internode for an ISP, very good ISP.
Bad actual connection due to poor quality copper in my suburb.
2-4 people gaming in the household at any given time.
I can say a whole sentence on voice comms before it get repeated in another client that sits next to me = more than 1 second round trip.
Dropship piloting is somewhat challenging unless using an ADS and then it's a lot better.
Usually no bars unless they are also Aussie, like other WarRavens or guys in "The Black Lotus Initative" channel (shout out to the Noosa guys)
Yes, my name is Latvian, I know .... well done.

I play a lot of logi and sometimes assault or scout for specific reasons. (I'm usually doing logi like things but in an assault or scout suit)
Doors and Corners is how I try to stay alive.
I watch a fair few you tube vids for tactics and fits that might help, or I work out the fit from watching the video and suit performance. (I also enjoy the videos)
1 v 1 suffers a lot under high pings so I try to avoid that where I can, it doesn't really work out all that well so I'm happy if I can "go positive" in my matches, 2.0 is my happy place and any better than that is time for a screen shot and a happy dance.
Using a SSD has helped with massive frame drops, eg gallente research facility.
Changing screen scale down to my minimum of 720p and dropping the quality down to low helps with other inherent game issues.
So it gets down to only being the long ping that I have to worry about in most circumstances.
There is significant delay in in-match menus which can occasionally be deadly and trying to restock a suit while in a match is so painful that I try and keep at least 50 of my primary suits stocked at any given time.
My two best buddies in game; Kira Halycon and Summer Sault kick me in the backside at regular intervals to stop me being too negative about things and help me to improve my game.
