Remove Active scans and focus more on Ewar I mean why bother with Ewar when 1 person scanning does it better, seriously anyone who thinks active scanners are right as they are should go play COD it.nullifies 90% of tactics I mean if both sides know where everyone is all the time then there's no surprises, flanking is pointless and this game atm is just a zergfest 24/7 no skill in this game anymore hence why loads of vets are leaving
At the very least you shouldn't be able to change equip or weapons til a scanners cd has gone, yeah imagine if in exchange for the scan you couldn't shoot.. That'd certainly make it an actual decision of when you scan
Right now this game is like training wheels for new fps players bring back pre 1.0 gameplay and make the game fun again...
I have to say all anyone does is run in a group of 4 permanent.scanning and following.the red.dots.. My 4 year old neice can play this game it's become so repetitive and formulaic
I'll get abuse from the no skill players because I'm criticising there crutch but I've yet to see a single logical reason why scanners should stay as they are
Ps i ran scout for a year N used dampeners but unless all 16 ppl on your team does the same the issue remains

So let's remove it altogether then, tough guy...Remove it from vehicles, too... As a matter of fact, let's get rid of the mini-map and ewar altogether and we'll see what's what...Let's get rid of hives and uplinks, too -- Both make the game way too easy, imo and they only nullify what should be strategically critical CRUs and resupply stations spread around the map... Now that I think about it, let's eliminate health regen also...That is easily the nubbiest feature of modern FPS games, and I remember the era when we didn't even have that... Deal?
Did you not see the bit about making Ewar important and then removing scanners? Scanners make Ewar mods useless on anything other than scout suits, take scanners away and it opens up a wide range of fitting possibilities for all suits
The fact is uplinks nanohives cloaks repair tools are all useful but none are op, scanners give too much of a benefit with no drawback
There used to be a.time snipers and.scouts would.relay enemy positions now we have scanners a whole dimension of gameplay and teamwork was lost.. Any nub can permanently scan only a.select few can provide info via.recon on a battlefield
All I hear about is teamwork this teamwork that so why not remove scanners and give snipers a more prominent rolling the game?

Maybe if you played less Dom you wouldn't be so limited by scanners.
Add the fact that there is only one good scanner and that scanner has such a long interval before reuse , it's like these people just don't want to use e-mods but have the best of all worlds . Tank , recharge ( shield and armor ) , damage stacking , maneuverability while using bio's and zero drawbacks while most scanners have such a horrible decibel tracking ability , nothing but a few dampeners wouldn't be able to get under unless you play heavy ( sent and commando ) and those are the suits that need scanners . People always claim e-mods do nothing but at the same time , don't utilize them because they don't want to " gimp their suits " . You have more people that play scout more then any other role and I don't need numbers for that , I play the game and see what I see , sometimes I play games where 7, sometimes 8 out of 16 players are using scouts , scanners are the counter to that and a lot don't use e-mods and get a bonus to e-war as well . Why complain and how could you for that matter .?. because you don't like to see " Your scanned " , well use e-mods because that's what their for . I use scanners and I'm killed a lot from behind by people who use e-mods and play tactically , not trying to charge head first into a firefight , using their cloaks to avoid detection or leave out of hot spots to reposition themselves . But you have people that say that cloaks are useless as well , I always say that depends on the user , in the right hands their effective but items and mechanics shouldn't change because of the laziness of the user or the lack of skill of most .
16 ppl have to change their fit because of 1 person with one piece of equipment..

Scanners don't.even counter scouts anyway 2 complex.damps puts all scouts below max scanner N max gal logi skill... only a Cal/gal assault with 4 complex.dampeners.gets.close to that.. So everyone loses.all 4 slots due.to.1 piece of equipment?
So either an entire team uses all low slots for dampeners or everyone can see everyone all the time .. Hmm what variety

After REs were nerfed it's about time.scanners.we're too
1 Proto Gal logi means everything.but scouts.even max dampened.can be seen.. So even losing 4 low.slots isn't enough to avoid being scanned.. Stupid game is stupid

Good players don't need scanners they have awareness, you said it yourself earlier you use scanners so you don't get shot in the back because you have no awareness, turn volume up and you can hear footsteps and ppl decloaking
Your idea of battle seems to be 2 lines of ppl attacking front on with logi's behind repping
I'm saying remove scanners or prevent ppl shooting at all for the full duration of the scan making targets visible
In a gun game knowing where most of your targets are most of.the time is easy mode, focus should.be on making all Ewar modules better so scanners aren't needed,.want 30m of 20 precision? Fit a precision module.. Things like this would make scanners obsolete, provide more variety in fittings and.still allow ppl on all.suits to scan passively N at ranges dictated by the modules they fit... 1 person with 1 scanner should.not bring so many benefits for little risk (3 seconds of not firing is nothing compared.to lighting up most enemies.positions)
This would make dust Ewar more inline with eve

My idea of battles in dust is people choosing the right suit for the role they want to play. The only reason why you are permanent scanned is because you refuse to run a scout suit. Let the people who can shoot and fight go a do that while you flank uncanned if that is what you need to do. Knowing where the enemy is doesn't make killing them any easier, you still need to actually fight them. Have you never been the bait for a scanner? Let them scan you, retreat around corner with RE trap and harvest dot chasers. Given the angles of scans, it isn't impossible to get out of the angle for satisfying flanking action, unless you only play dom, in which case switch your game mode if you want a more open ended match experience. You really seem like you want all the benefits of a medium frame without any drawbacks, which is kind of childish. For someone who seems so bent out of shape by scanners, why do you not run a scout suit?

I have a Cal scout maxed as well as gal assault and Cal Sentinel, all you've done is make.assumptions of my roles, play style and ability on nothing but me saying your crutch is Op.
The whole benefit of DUST is that you can customise your fit to do what you want, ppl brick tank scouts, turn logi's into slayers, you seem to think if you pick a suit then that's your role which just isn't right, go look at dust trailers, in fact go.ask devs what dusts niches are and I guarantee 1 is customizable fits, that's why you can fit any light weapon/equipment/modules on your suit
Ewar should be viable for all classes and if that was done we don't need scanners, you keep ignoring this point because you have no counter to why Ewar shouldn't be made more important than.scanners, you could.make.an anti scout logi using highs for precision lows for range amplifiers which could give below 18db precision at 40/50m + plus no need to scan as it's passive you can just keep repping etc and keep a lookout for.scouts... Now do you see why it's a.much better way to do things? Fits could be truly customizable,unique and more in line with eve
It's clear you only have 1 suit because it never occurred to you I could have more than just an assault suit
I should mention I have all equipment maxed too

All these people with scans would get a nice dose of reality of how bad they are at this game. Because people with scanners most of them that iv'e faced have ZERO intuition, they rely so heavily on the stupid little radar and once that is gone they have nothing. Just get yourself dedicated scanner guys and you got 100% advantage already unless the other team also has a dedicated scanner then its at 50%. It's so dumb. It doesn't reward skilled game play it's just a lobby full of monkeys flinging sh*t at each other.
I sway away from this more by the time passes. Not buying it. You have the ability and the people around you to win the fight, being scanned doesn't matter. If you NEED stealth, which not every role needs, run a scout suit. If for some reason you must not be scanned in a medium frame(why is really beyond me), then you get to gimp your HP to less of a scout for no gain. Knock yourself out I guess.

Your missing the key point to the whole argument...
Diversity of fittings
Remove scanners and focus on Ewar, you STILL haven't responded to Ewar replacing scanners,.if those items were buffed fitting variety would expand massively, people could play around and personalise there fittings, dust atm is all about EHP the version of the game you want is to linear, eve is a massive universe full of possibilities and I advise you go check out the diversity of fittings and variety of things to do and tell me why wanting that from Dust is Wrong? That's what they promised us...
