Every time I hack, the hack stops for a split second and then picks back up where it left off. When it stops, the sound stops and the bars and "HACKING" text go away but everything else stays up.
It doesn't appear to affect the speed of hacking, but it happens 1-3 times EVERY time I hack anything.
I use a Dualshock 3 Sixaxis and I keep it tethered while I'm playing. |

Same and same.
Also the "sniping" problem, i think that is happening to me on my HMG too. On occasion I will be holding the button down to forcibly inject small pieces of metal into someones face and the gun will just spaz out. Ive always charked it up to lag but now that I read this, the problem sounds VERY similar to the scope going in and out rapidly but imagine it with the firing mechanism of a Heavy Machine Gun going on and off. It also sounds very odd, as in the rotary sound of the spinning barrel seems to go on and off too along with the actual firing of bullets. |

I don't use sniper rifles much, but I've noticed the same happening when hacking stuff. I'm pretty sure it happened to me only when hacking guns. I'm using a dualshock 3 sixaxis controller and usually run around in the type A assault dropsuit, with an assault rifle (don't remamber the name out of my head now, it's not the basic one). |

I know recently (i.e., last night/early morning -- roughly 0030-0130 EST) had a moment where not only did the scope come in and out on my Duoshock 3 controller while sniping, but I had a gun fight in the EU Comms Skirmish (24 player) where in the middle of a gun fight on A, my HMG fired, stopped, fired, stopped, fired, stopped and then I died all while I was feverishly holding onto the R1 button trying to cut this little assault man down with it. Yet these have not been the only issues in respects to the button interactions of the controller producing very unexpected results (i.e., sprinting and having the overhead map or the player list come up, knifing someone and having my character reload their weapon, and throwing a grenade and having the pause menu (start button related actions) come up. These have happened a various places across several maps at various times and server loads. I have switched out controllers, and did notice that one of my older ones was a little more prone to it than others, yet I have had this happen on a controller that was just purchased 1 week ago.
Does this fall in with the issues of the program computer and the servers not communicating well with each other? Or is this a bad program line that is interfering with the appropriate information being related to the servers?

This is one set of bugs I'm thankful to have avoided. I haven't had any problems using the charge sniping rifles. At least not the ones described here, my only issues are 1) that players animations at extreme long distances don't always load, (a known issue) and 2) that the zoom on the sniper rifle types doesn't give the options for variable zoom or increased magnification. (Like more traditional FPS's, a game preference.) Also, I love the charge rifle, and wish there was a more advanced varient of it, to me since it seems like damage mods aren't really doing their jobs, it's the only one I've played with that ALPHA's or doubletaps other players with any real consistency. |

I've seen this problem as well to me it seems like the client and the server cant agree as to whether or not I'm actual pushing the button or not |

I think the issue here is the lag between actions being completed and the server being able to accept the next action.
Examples:
-Lock on and fire a swarm launcher at something -Hit R1 again and nothing happens -If you hold it at that point nothing will ever happen, it has to be released
-Complete a shot with the charge sniper rifle -Hold R1 again right after and nothing happens
All of these are avoided by the player either waiting long enough to hit the button again, or releasing it and hitting it again if they did it too soon after the first action.
To Fix: The "dead time" between actions should be minimized. It's either a lag issue or some other problem causing the game to think you're still busy performing an action when in fact you've completed it.
If any "dead time" persists in the game, the game will need to see R1 was pressed and perform the action, meaning charging the shot, firing, targeting etc.. |

many of the above posts state that it is happening during an ongoing event, not after one event is completed and trying to queue another event (ie, another shot) |

noticed the glitch as well esp when hacking
sniping brings a similar problem just not that often
sometimes when i go to shoot the game will freeze for a second and surprise i didn't get a headshot but this freeze glitch has also occurred sometimes when I use turrets. |

I've often said that while using the HMG I still burst fire to "nag" the server, and I think it's because certain actions like holding down "circle" and holding down R1 drop out periodically.
This is interesting - I've noticed a significantly more 'non-hits' when R1 is mashed down than when burst firing, but have just been writing it off to hit box issues.
EDIT: wireless DS3 contoller here. |

This may be related, maybe not.
Has anybody had similar issues with L3 for sprint? I've had issues coming out of sprint when I still have plenty of stamina.
Also had a problem where if L3 is pre-depressed before being moved off-centre, my character will not break into a sprint. Have to release L3, start walking, THEN depress L3 to break into a run. This has lead to much of bullets in the back.
Not that I run away a lot. Well, not much, anyway. Really. |

How many are using wired DS3 as opposed to wireless controllers and is there a discrepancy there? |

i use a powerA airflo controller (i like the xbox stick layout.) but i only ever get this issue rarely. just barely enough that i know what people are talking about
dunno if that's official or not but it seems people using "legit" controllers are getting it even worse. makes me think it's prolly not the controller, right?
and for what it's worth it never gave me any trouble arming an Mcom in battlefield. |

Two major errors i get is: One i can not use R1 at all and have to leave the game and come back for it to work again. Two, when i go to use a weapon. It takes a second or so to actually fire. Which I am thinking is due to lag spikes and rarely happends.
I do also sometimes, Very rarely have random buttons will press. One being the option to call down something. Two switch to a different weapon<- This only happends in combat to me.
Suits, equipment, weapons do not seem to matter as it does it with many of the weapons I use.
I have 2 DUALSHOCK 3 SIXAXIS Official SONY controllers and 1 SIXAXIS Controller *came with a older PS3 of mine*.
I alternate between them for charging and *where did I put it* reasons. |

I am using a Sony Dualshock 3 Six Axis, Model Number CECHZC2U A1. I have two (2) which are alternated and fully charged every use.-á
I have noticed extreme issues with the Sony controller specifically and only with Dust 514 with regards to responsiveness. The in-game responsiveness of the controllers is constantly / always poor no matter what my load out is or which map / area I am in.
I believe the main reason is unresponsive sensitivity. Regardless what I set the sensitivity to, minute input is not registered, slight input is sluggish, and increased input is over compensated. The overall feel of the game control makes use of the controller very labor intensive. Whereas a mouse and keyboard may have more on-board settings to compensate for the sensitivity, the controllers will require better in-game support.
In addition,-áI have had a host of random issues in every match most common being: -Zoom not working; requires two or more attempts to activate. -Misfires when I am not pulling the trigger. -Blank fire; nothing happens no matter how much I scream at the TV as the other guy wonders why I am not firing back as he murders me. -Zoom stays locked if I reload while zoomed in. -Sometimes the weapon turns invisible while hacking. -Sometimes while reloading the ammo gets reset back to zero upon completion of the reload. (I cannot confirm, but this might be caused due to the character sliding on uneven terrain even though I am not actively moving the character). -(I also get the hack interrupts and noticed installations change back to red if I start hacking right as someone captures it...) -Personal gripe: I am colorblind so the green / blue (?) reticles actually hinder me more than anything; I use the zoom mostly as binoculars because the actual reticle tends to look like a blur obstructing the target to me.-á

I have these issues rarely.
My thought is as the buttons are VERY sensitive, as soon as pressure dips from 100% it lets the shot (or the zoom) go.
Just as you can drive slowly by partially pushing the button down, as soon as the pressure eases.... |
