Not any? He doesn't deserve any?
Why not? And that right there is the reason he and ccp in general DO deserve the vitriol and resentment that persists to this day. What?
Because to this day and beyond ccp and Rouge first & foremost have failed to account for that debacle of misinformation and **** poor customer relations that was FF14.
Have they apologized? No - because they don't think they need to
Have they offered explanation? No, for the same damn reason
When was the last post ccp rouge has ever made to this community?
What has he ever done for dust?
And before Anyone starts listing Rouge's accomplishments I will point out that not one thing has been posted by or about him officially since that wedding.
I would like to give the guy a chance, a fair shake, an open and accepting ear - but he has not tried once to approach this playerbase and discuss matters.
i have faith and trust in those that extend the same to me. Rouge? Who the **** is that? |

More content. Sexier graphics. Better framework. Fewer middlemen. Presumably less lag. Larger potential playerbase. Etc ...
... and we freakin' crucified the dude.
If Rouge waltzed in today and announced the very same thing he announced in 2014, we'd hail him as hero and savior.
Amiright? No, the reason we "freakin' crucified the dude" was because he announced that they were basically ditching not only our community but all of our progress in Dust and moving to PC. None of the Round Tables where they confirmed that our progress would be kept and that this was actually aimed at the current playerbase were streamed on Twitch. Therefore the only thing seen by all of us watching the stream and not in attendance in Iceland was that we were all being ditched in exchange for the PC crowd while the Twitch chat was spammed with "PC MASTER RACE" and how all of us who currently play the game never deserved it in the first place. THAT is why we all got pissed. CCP Rouge being the director of Eve TV and proprietor of the streaming service itself is clearly a justifiable reason why the man is at fault. /sarcasm You got pissed at the one guy who dared show his face despite the poor planning on behalf of people that are not him. The one guy who had the balls to actually go up at the beginning of the Eve Keynote to play damage control the next day. S'okay, though, because I did too later on. Got banned for it, even. The hatred toward CCP Rouge was ill-placed and knee-jerky. Players couldn't - and still can't, apparently - understand the orchestra that is behind the scenes and will fault developers they know and see for the actions of the ones they don't. Learn from that experience. Holy crap- has the whole CPM been granted some detailed info and insight that the rest of the dust playerbase has To? Maybe that is exactly the case. When did you all get this terrific opinion of Rouge?
What has he done for dust? The only blue team that we have ever heard, over the past year, of doing anything positive for this game is Frame, Ratatti and crew. And crew has never included Rouge.
If that guy has contributed to this game in any positive way then spell it out.
Because the only interaction with the gentleman this playerbase has ever had was the keynote you suggest he provided "damage control" at. In my opinion it was a lot more damage than control
Seriously, I will try to be calm and put my very negative opinion on hold for a very short while if the CPM or any blue tag would like to point out why my opinion is so unjustified.
But you better be clear and convincing because no one has offered us any kind of explanation to this point and THAT is a big reason for the persistence in my and many others' dim view of the matter. |

Learn from that experience. Just gunna say that it is hard to understand the so-called "orchestra" when the conductors leave their audience in the dark and the musicians don't play their instruments, even though the audience bought tickets to their concert. CCP coulda learned from that, but... well... it is kinda dim in here, and the crickets... Well, they are chirping. Personally, I'd like the orchestra to begin to warm up and tune their instruments, if not begin to play some Tchaikovsky. And one wonders why Aeon, I don't understand why you feel this community has no reason to dislike the style of 'communication' that ccp rouge has used since his hiring to 'interact' with us.
And what do you mean by,'and one wonders why'?
Wonders why what? Why we still feel negatively about fanfest 14?
Why wouldn't we? What has been said about the blindside we were dealt? What has been done to alleviate the concern that this game is still going no where?
And, in that particular regard, I will personally thank Cross Atu for what little hope and encouragement he could offer recently.
He is the only one trying to communicate a positive message to this playerbase....in the midst of continued silence and lack of information ( when clearly ther is information held closely by ccp).
So please do not suggest we shouldn't have a negative opinion of Rouge. Until he wants to step out of the shadows and give us a reason to trust him all we have to go with is what we know. And that ain't much |

CCP Shanghai had some staff pruning post FanFest 2014, particularly in the PR and marketing department. Thanks Cat for making that point. And IF that is what Aeon and Darth are trying to say then they should say THAT. And more. In clear and simple language without cryptic scoldings towards us. Because I have never heard Rouge say anything like that. I have never heard anything from Rouge ( who supposedly is in charge of Dust).
Again, want me and others to change our opinion about what happened, why and his role then and since?
Wait, for it.....

Respectfully Mr Bait,
When someone talks TO you it is, by definition, direct.
Of course there are people doing things with DUST that we never hear of or from. Hilmar comes to mind.
But these mystery people do not talk to us and any opinion we form of them is founded upon what we know.
So it is surprising to hear from multiple CPM2s about how great and contributory CCP Rouge has been.
And, again, I will gladly suspend and reform my negative opinions if and when someone with DIRECT knowledge and insight lists some of those contributions.
How is my position unreasonable in this matter? |

Again, want me and others to change our opinion about what happened, why and his role then and since? Wait, for it..... Communication I'm aware. The CPM is aware. CCP is aware. There is a strong desire for communication and we are doing everything we can to accomodate you (see Council's Chambers sub-forum and my blog). Please have patience and try to consider the different perspectives. Oh Aeon,
I am patient. And I do appreciate what you, Darth, Cross, Breakin and many others are doing to engender change in the way communication happens here. Please do not mistake my postings for anything other than what they are: my meager attempt to support that effort as well.
I am not stupid or ignorant of how the world and business works. I believe that Rouge, Ratatti, and even Hilmar have the games' best interest at heart.
By making the posts and statements I make I am trying to leverage change in the direction I believe would help most - more open and transparent communication between CCP and its players.
I have consistently advocated this approach for all the years I have been here.
And, for what it is worth, I appreciate CCP's position. Managing expectations and customer response to change can be frought with risk. But ccp accepts this risk to a greater degree with eve than they do with dust.
I am pushing for a similar level of engagement from the whole dust team ( Rouge) towards the players.
So, CPM2, all of you - thank you for the efforts you are making in this direction. I know there is a lot of stuff happening behind scenes that we are not privy too. And it is possible that CCP, Rouge and the rest are making great strides that will improve DUST in many of the ways we desire.
But we have been here before - reassurances that all is well and will be revealed in good time.
And that is what I am afraid of. I don't want to be misled again.
Thank you for all you do...please continue to consider the benefits of growing trust and further player commitment and loyalty through increased transparency and communication. |

Kevall,
Thank you for taking the time to put down, in detail, the circumstances and events that led us here from that fateful day.
And, to the rest of CPM2, thank you for your contributions and persistence in making your case.
I have a better understanding and appreciation for why he would find the term Rouge Wedding so offensive and misplaced. And for that reason I will cease using it ( though, admittedly, I sometimes did this as barb meant to elicit a response).
But, to reiterate my position for clarity: I do not "blame" Rouge, Ratatti or anyone for Dust's current state. I applaud Rattati and Co. For what DUST is and how far it has come this past year and a half. Dust is, right now, better than it has ever been.
And this is my gravest concern. You and others on the CPM have made clear that CCP won't tell us what they have planned until it's much more of a sure thing. Ok, I accept that.
So where does that leave is now? How far from a sure thing are we? The courses of action that have been discussed ( by the plAyer base because ccp won't talk) are PS4 and PC.
We have no word or confirmed direction from CCP so, based on your argument, we are not close enough to a sure thing for them to tell us.
Do you see where this is going?
I do not agree with any unspoken plan on ccp's part to withold this information from the players until such a time that marketing and promotion minded staff deem it most advantageous to the company to reveal. I don't want to hear about a port at fan fest or eve Vegas. I want to hear it from Ratatti or, even Rouge!, as soon as they decide the plan to port is firm and feasible.
We are the core playerbase. If ccp ports dust is will grow exponentially. The product is that good. You need us to help make this successful. Ccp should commit to us as we have to them. Don't ******* jerk us around with a big splashy but delayed reveal.
My complaint is not with dust. It is with ccp's lack of trust in the p,ayers of dust despite our loyalty to them.
Thanks again CPM2 for stepping up to the mic. We need more of this!
