Disagree. There are some games that are not designed or destined to be on a console.

I strongly believe, DUST514, at it's current release time, was not destined to be a console game. Seeing the PS4 specs, the PS4 could do it; however, we run into the same problem, having to update the game to x console specifications every generation.

The lack of accurate recall in here is crazy.
The FF2014 announcement was a riot because in the preceeding months DUST had been due multiple fixes for various game elements and mechanics that didn't happen. Instead it was months of total silence from the dev team, then, during what was supposed to be an expose of DUST's year(s) to come was an announcement that CCP had effectively quit doing anything support-wise for DUST so as to create a demo for Legion. And don't forget in those weeks prior there was the escalation of monetization elements (100% boosters, anyone?). THAT's the environment that announcement was made in.
Would people react the same to the same announcement now? Who knows. Could CCPs dev group at the time handled the problems that existed then, as Rattati has since? Who knows.

The latter question tho is the real kicker. At the end of the day it comes down to the old adage, "Where there's a will, there's a way." If CCP want to grow the relationship they've fostered with the console gaming community, then they will. If they want to diversify their clientele base by branching (farther?) into mobile, then they will. If they want to solely want to rely on the support of the "PCMasterRace" then they'll do that. IMHO, if they felt last of those was a worthwhile goal then they never would've grown into the console market in the first place.
