Why exactly has it lost its fun? If anything, zero risk of loss has caused players to do more things that they wouldn't do normally do for fear of losing the suit. You know like push the objective, try to go for revs, reps and kills.....

Nerf all the blueprints =ƒÿÇ=ƒæì Hey OP- I'd just like to point out how incredibly convincing you are with your very obvious alt (tester1 please!) and worthless argument with zero logic to support it. Thanks for your input.
Now if you'd said something like, I can't afford to buy blueprints on my main because ccp allows a free market...I would have a shred of sympathy |

No, all I s done is let people like me officer stomp. Cheap weapons=litter care about loss. Which then=me stomping with my Rattati. And then people blame me (and others) of stomping and being the reason people leave. Well, it's also everyone's fault for being a baby and not putting up a fight or competition.

Wow another one of those closed beta guys.....
Seems everyone is one when in fact there are like 10 left. active. The game was in closed beta for 12 days in January 2013, everyone in the game must have started then....even though their profiles don't say that they have been here that long.
Getting tired of see that to qualify a post.
As a side note, I'm not sure that I like zero risk and high reward of BPOs as well. I run them almost 100% of the time, so I have to admit I like them. I do have to say I am not sure I like that they let me risk nothing while still putting in great numbers. |

The only blueprints I run are skins and krins (hehe I made a rhyme) and I still push the objective and don't give a rats ass about how much suits I lose.
Also I agree with OP. When I started playing in 2013, BPOs were rare and were usually either miltia or basic and more of a visual thing than anything else. APEX suits were okay when they were unmoddable, made them more like premium starter suits rather than a Proto BPO. Now its just an excuse to run proto cheaply.

If you are checking Dustboard, it is not really a good indication of when someone started playing. Take me for example, I started playing in Jan 2013 on my first toon (Jack O'Reilly) but I spend time on the forums on this toon which was created in August 2013.

If you're a closed beta vet. Why do you only have 40mill sp? I have almost 30mill and I've only been around for about a year.(40$ put into game for a respect and a bpo logi suit, and a milita weapon bpo.) U mad because some random in a apex/bpo suit killed you in a officer suit? This toon has been here sine August 2013, my main since January 2013, this toon has 28.5mil and my mian has 15mil. It depends how much you play, if you take a break and all that good sh*t.

Anecdotal evidence of course but I find players that run Proto gear and more push harder, faster, and better than players who run just BPOs. Yes, BPO-runners take more risks but the quality of those risks is degraded because they know that the risk and loss value isn't nearly as high and thusly take chances that often results in their obliteration.
Whereas a player that knows and truly values the cost of his gear will think before acting, and while some are too risk averse to make a difference the ones who will strategize their actions make the most impact.
That, to me, is what makes the game fun - not a bunch of risk-free cannon fodder storming the gates of a bunch of risk averse megalomaniacs who will never spend the money they're trying to lose.

And just like o said above, that's why the stompers have set a line over everyone else. People don't care about dying any more. That's wen the stompers come out and wreck. And then they blame us for stomping. I blame them for not trying

Yeah, its completely anecdotal....WTF...
Nothing written there even remotely reflects what I have seen. To be honest I see more points taken, more areas held, and more installations hacked in BPO suits than I ever do in proto. All I usually see from proto is slayers try harding or scouts shot gunning. The guys in proto don't risk it to hack a CRU, flip a point, push for a win. The ones not taking a risk are the ones nursing the suits, or worse the ones with so much ISK from CCP screw ups in the past they don't even care about profit anymore. Did you actually read this post before you made it?
Now don't get me wrong, I think the BPOs are a little over the top. I run them 99% of the time now, so I have to say they allow for great numbers with low risk. They do not however get out "qualitied" by the mostly useless proto crowd. It seem to be the other way around.

I typically find that these players you're referring to are already sitting on hundreds of millions of ISK, so there's no "risk" there either since nothing has any value... |
