CCP you really need to finish that meta level cap because the number of protos in pubs is just at a insane amount here lately.
and when you play 8 matches that have nothing but proto it's kind of annoying it's a pub not a fw or a pc PLZ finish that meta level cap soon.

well i havent been playing as long as you all and i'm not a good solo player so it's hard for me just too be fighting proto all the time and hard on my wallet of isk, i'm only adv in my suits but if people want too run proto thats there choice guess i'll just deal with.

no its your choice to get stomped by proto. i can tell by you saying that your advanced in multiple suits. you are suppose to pick one thing one role when you first start playing and focus on taking that to proto. plus the weekly skill cap was raised since i was a new player.

Truthfully I think it's more officer stomp, but yes the proto stompers do outnumber them. |

To me it seems that most Proto is just Apex fitted with a proto weapon. It's really cheap like that. I have a freedom HMG on my Dominus and the whole suit costs just 47,000 (PC use only though)

I normally only run ADV, but I have a low mu, I think. Biggest difference I noticed recently was upgrading the warbarge ammo/damage bonus one level. |

Man I remember when I ran proto 24/7 for like a year and no one complained like they complain now.
Now I only proto with my AV. Man I should use proto today.....and not my AV.

If we had 30k people on at one time, matchmaking would be glorious.
With so many people in the pool, really balanced teams could be created.
Not to mention all the game mode variation that could be implemented.

Peak average never saw 6000, so this was always a fool's errand. the game should have been utterly redesigned around a smaller player-base two years ago. What you see now is finished product, in decline.

Do you realize that if people never have to worry about playing against anything other than proto they have no reason to buy boosters or AUR gear because they would never have to leave mlt matches?
Meta level matches will most likely cut revenue by 30% or more but that is a total estimate. The one thing that is positive is meta level caps mean more wait times and less money. SOUNDS GREAT!!!

Vets in mlt matches... In squads with 15-35% more armor, shields, dampening, scan precision, weapon damage, fitting space, suit bonus, shield regen, module efficiency, ammo, rep range, and then there's vehicle skills lol. Yep totally gonna change the game.

Saw a pic of someone with just over 100 billion isk a while back. Kinda explains why I only see some players in full officer gear in pubs. I have a billion from running pubs, if I had been part of the big corps on a payroll, running anything but officer/full proto would be silly. |

Lets not forget that then newbies would not even be blaming proto they would just be pissed that for some reason this guy has on the same suit but is destroying him. I can see that going GREAT for npe.
People that run proto are nothing more than scapegoats that push newbies to spend money out of frustration. Sorry guys thats not going away.

Cuss there is not a "supposed to" path in this game, and his concern is valid. Lots of guys like you are really just bad players with better STUFF. This game is about SP and gear. Unfortunately, the number of players has dwindled to nothing so if you are new you are stuck facing guys like you with short **** issues that feel proto is a way to compensate for it. Bottom line is the match making and payout system need to be fixed, and K/D need to disappear to make the game better for new players. I run my proto in PC matches, but I don't in pubs. We are mercenaries and in truth losing money in pubs makes you a much worse player than the guy going negative K/D and still making ISK.
So don't tell a new guy he has to proto something then move on to something else. In truth if the meta level issue was fixed it would let guys like him explore the game and hopefully stay. Besides realize he is starting in Expert mode, you came up in easy mode. Even a year ago the amount of average SP and ISK value of gear per active player has skyrocketed. You did not see whole teams of officer gear like you do now in FWs. So, If you want to help squad with this guy, give him some ISK, or play like you're not a short **** in pubs. Don't tell him its his fault some guys are dicks an he should just quit playing, becasue that's all you did. |

With meta locks, people would get rekt just as often.

Advanced/Apex are a far cry from proto, and an even farther distance from Officer. The meta locks would not prevent some people from having bad games, but it would stop 4 man squads with a total meta level higher than the entire enemy team from running off all the new players to the game. |

Unless you are missing a large portion of your brain, you'd realize that not even 10% of players get to the weekly cap, because people like you make it pure hell with your q syncing ISK/SP farming.
Also, if someone first starts playing, how do they know exactly which suit or role to take to proto without playing them all first?

Have most stompers changed their tactics in domination?
It seems they let their enemy have the objective so they get more kills, They don't charge the objective straight away
to prevent early rage quits.
I suppose most people playing a shooter focus on kills so you they would argue you are supposed to stomp, but I am simply not interested in stomps, I want close fair games
It would not bug me so much if saying this makes other posters give ridiculous responses like "what I am supposed to do not kill them"
or " I squad up with good players and we put on proto suits and want a close fair game"
