If you ever die while cooking a grenade you will notice your grenade disappears. How about we make it so that if you die while cooking a grenade the grenade will fall to the ground and blow up when the grenade timer is up.

I'm going to guess that that nade goes to the same place unused deployed RE's go when you die. Incase you still aren't sure they are sent to the minmatar. You can guess what happens next.

Can't be bothered to look it up but I think the explanation was that the grenade is linked to your suit and deactivates when your dropsuit signal goes faint (incapacitated). They take CPU and PG to equip after all.
This is so you don't terminate yourself and can still be revived.
Weapons of the future.

Here's a cool Lore/Corporate-tech explanation (LOL, otherwise known as a fun, full of balony explanation) for what happens when you are killed:
The instant before your death, your dropsuit is punctured and ruined to the point of electrical failure. Let's face it, if the "Dropsuit" actually was real and did what is described, it would be an absolute SUPREME achievement of technology. It not only protects, and relays sensor data. It POWERS every gadget you're carrying (the guns, grenades, reppers, have no self-initiator (they can't run far at all without the dropsuit powering and managing them).
Only those special creations classified as "Equipment" have the ability to retain power remotely, even after the dropsuit that initiates them and transmits to them, has been run over by a passing HAV.
So your grenade which has just been signaled by your dropsuit to "cook", loses the instruction and the power to initiate, the moment your dropsuit has a catastrophic failure as you were killed.
Sorry, CCP. Your request to receive my resume for possible employment is very nice of you, but I must reluctantly pass.... I can't stand the cold weather over there!

But that doesn't apply if I throw the grenade upon death. If I actually throw the grenade and then die the grenade will still go off. Only if I am cooking the grenade does the grenade not go off when I die.

LOL, My explanation still holds. The grenade is power-initiated by your dropsuit. We're likely making a terrible mistake if we think we are "pulling a pin" as in earth-style grenades. (I have not seen any pin-pulling in the game animation).
You are commanding your dropsuit to send a signal to the grenade to cook while you are holding it. As long as the dropsuit is transmitting the signal, the grenade cooks after you've thrown it. But if the dropsuit is destroyed when you die, the transmission cuts off---and your grenade is now just an inert object that the game doesn't even worry to render (like the loose debris from damaged walls, after it sits on the ground.)
The grenade can't complete it's procedure without the dropsuit's continued transmission.

It used to be that you can cook a 'nade on any speedy dropsuit and run up to people, going full Jihad. I may be wrong, but I remember this happening back a WHILE ago.

I think people might still be able to do that. I know I am able to do it sometimes when I am chasing after tanks trying to blow them up with my Lai Dai's. I have not been able to do it with a non-AV grenade though but the conditions in which I am using non-AV grenades are much different than the conditions in which I am using AV grenades. |

^ true. This caused much frustration as the instant before you'd die you hit the grenade and it often kill the guy killing you. I believe that grenades didn't have as long a delay then too. |

I would probably like that nades wouldn't disappear, but that mechanic might be bad for gameplay.
Too bad, it would really fit the immortal clone theme to have dead's man switch of a sort.

Lol I was watching saxonmishs newest video on the meat grinder and I slowed down the moment he pulled out a grenade. Stared at it. No buttons on top of the nade and all he did was slap the top of it. I guess there's like a little remote pad that activates the grenade when it comes very close?(like the node/pad is proximity based?)
