maybe finally after years of abuse my fat boy is going to bite the dust
i turned it on today and everything was a little quafey, the screen was pink and green i couldn't see any other colours, all the icons etc.
i messed around with hue on the capture device and on the TV, it changed for one display but not when looking through the other (things appeared differently on the PS3 hdmi input than the PC hdmi input, preview window for my capture device).
so i reset the video settings by holding down the power button until it beeps twice (whilst turned off). and it came back on black and white with no sound.
tried didn't hdmi cable and didn't port, reset settings on tv and capture device etc.
is this how they all go? is this how the mighty fall!?! |

All I can say is - At least PS3`s are cheap these days.
yeh it's all as is, funny thing is I cleaned my room yesterday and before heading out sorted a few ISK transactions, turned everything off at the wall, came back today 24 hours later and it's like this.
Probably all those years of overheating and freezing haha.
Yeh you're right there mate if I can find anywhere in town (seriously) that sells the super slim and an SSD I'll get sorted tomorrow. |

1st thing I would check is your video and audio cables.
2nd thing, check the receptacles for those cables, maybe a little connector or node thingy is out of whack.
Usually there is a yellow light indicator to show there is a problem if I'm not mistaken. I actually have two ps3's and I've never had any problem out of them after all the years of abuse I've given them.
nah it's not in safe mode, I know all about that unfortunately, all the error messages, resetting, factory settings, restore file system, I've had to do so much to keep this thing alive.
yeh i had yellow light once when the ps3 was overheating a few months ago, has never done it before then.
thinking of just buying super slim ps3, SSD, and trying that out with dust, |

Check composite connection and HD connection.
Redo the double beep thing.
If not maybe call Sony support?
And I see you have lots of isk....... Would you mind donating me 5m???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? It's just 5m. That shouldn't be too much to ask for....
yeh i've been going onto video output settings a lot and switching between HDMI and component, I'm not using composite.
PS3 was bought in 2009 so I don't think they'd help haha can't even remember where I bought it from.
about the isk: no sorry |
