So i recently picked up Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence (8/10, great game, but needs to start thinking of how to get this to online play) and one of the best parts of the game is creating officers out of your friends and sending them out into the world and seeing how they do.
They'll create stories and there own biography through there efforts that may or may not effect the game.
but i need a bit of info:
The name you want to use
Rating your intelligence, leadership, athetlics, and charm from a scale of 1-100
Define in 3 different 1 choice words how you describe your growth as a person
and if your morales follow an intellectual, charming, athetic, or ambitious path. *There's a few other options here if you want to take a chance and use your own word*
and lastly, what type of officer you want to be. |

Ghost Kaisar
INT - 80
LDR - 50
ATH - 65
CHM - 30
Growth as a person? Slow, Steady, Positive.
I actually have a very odd set of morals. On one side, I've got that analytical side of my head that tells me what I should do to achieve what I want, but its still very solidly kept in check by conscience.
As a result, I'm typically very understanding of some of the terrible things that people can do, but at the same time non-supportive of them.
Talks with friends about terrorist attacks and serial killers are very interesting with me
BTW, looked up the game. Not my thing, but I like doing things like this too. I actually named a ton of soldiers in XCOM after Dust guys for laughs.
Nothing like watching Dust players get wrecked by aliens.

Your growth will be set to versatile. It means your character will steadily grow however the need for his nation arises.
your trait will be logical. You will not be emotionless, since you're not had to get along with, but it sets you as a "Progressive" character in this era, which generally means Liberal way of thinking. Conservatives will hate you, and neutral will ofc, won't care.
and the tier of your friendship is 6 out of 15 *It means you're not hard to please*
your abilities themselves will be defensive and tactically defensive abilities.

Let me put into perspective the 1-100 value in this game.
a character with 1, is obviously a trash character, and unless it has another trait above 70, the weakness can lead to issues early on.
a character set to 50 is still pretty much worthless. As a political he could possibly, with time, build up a town, but a city will be too much for them. A general with 50 will see lots of casualties, and should only be considered as a relief force to support a stronger general.
70 a character starts to distinguish themselves. You'll be able to accomplish anything well at this level, but it's more of a mtainance and support for the higher level guys to do the real jobs.
80 and 90 are obviously pretty incredible stats to have in your characters, and are generally people you want around doing the hardest jobs.
100 is insanely good. Matched up against anyone under 90 you'll slaughter them, and cities grow as an incredible rate |

Want any changes? Sounds good, tell me when I die horribly It was a long game this time around, i made everyone I created into the same army and created a new fortress at a north eastern port in japan. The town grew steadily thanks to General John Rippers charm and diplomatic skills, paired with others working on roads to improve trade and population.
eventually we'd get into a war too quickly with a force 4 times our size wanting the convenient fortress location, making it easier to travel west through a port able to resupply armies.
with help of allies we succeed in barely driving them back, but Leah Lacaya dies in battle *IRL friend* we'd be forced to turtle for a long time until a battle too heavily turns the tide to our favor.
After a few years we finally branch our taking a nearby city, before we were barely a town. We quickly expanded after stabilizing, taking an entire district with 2 cities and 5 forts. We end our alliances and assimilate them, giving up control of the north eastern tip of japan.
we steadily progress down the shores, grabbing the fortresses and cities along the way, until we become big enough to start assigning regents to control the regions for me.
I create 2 - General John Rippers to the north to handle diplomacy and supplies, Ghost to the south to handle the border forces.
That's when we get into our fight real war against Date - there and our allies went at it, bringing us both in. i was brought into the defense, and it turned into a bloody battle where many generals lay dead, but no land is switched over after a year and a half of battles.
For years we organize and allocate our forces in preparation to invade the Date clan, focusing on domestic and building new fortresses to properly supply forces this time around.
You gave the order eventually, and you marched 200,000 troops against 320,000. But they were low on resources from travel being harsh - the terrain is mountain, making movement slow, while our forces mostly circled around them and built forts to keep supplies up.
Ghost would eventually starve Date's main forces and trap 160,000 of them on a mountain path between 2 forces of 40,000 and 20,000, slaughtering them in a pincer attack of an already starving force.
Date's officers are monsters, though. casualties would still mount on both sides. But Date would lose and eventually be forced into serving the SoTa Clan.
The game will continue down a steady path of expanding and meeting new and bigger enemies who've had time to grow and absorb the clans around them. The biggest, bigger then us by miles, would be the Tokugawa's, who had early on defeated Nobunaga and then taken most of the middle of the map for himself. When we go to war there, Ghost will die arguably the biggest battle to happen in the game.
GJR takes on your mantle as front line general and ultimately wins the war and the game for it. Since the war mostly took place on mountains paths entering wide open plains, GJR didn't blindly rush in with a huge army like Ghost did, he upgraded the roads and built forts so he could slowly push in safety onto the plains, upgrading the fortresses immediately with turrets and improved gates.
the counter offense to his ploy would leave the enemy too weak to stop the support advanced i forced ordered from cities months away. But thanks to GJR's supply lines - it was all made possible. |
