If there was no isk and you could run anything you wanted so long as you met the skill required, would you ever leave battle?
Edit: I have over a billion now but I never leave so I'm just wondering. |

Skill tree... I laugh at the skill tree. With a combined sp of over 250 million I can do anything I want. |

Remove ISK and you remove one of they few things that makes Dust different from other FPS: asset loss.
If you leave battle you lost... If matchmaker works even a little and the teams have the same numbers but your losing then topping the scoreboard should be the objective. |

That is not a bad outlook; even if you can't win you can at least top the EoM screen. Sadly, I don't think this outlook is shared by the majority of people. Also, remember that it is one thing to lose and another to get stomped. I have had close matches result in a loss that were incredibly fun. Then there are those matches where you are alive maybe 10s before a squad of officer gear chodes descend upon you.
Maybe if all the idiots quit selling there gear to people with endless Isk rivers filling their pockets it wouldn't be happening?
Fixing this game is worse than trying to fix the real world... Even tho we can fix everything wrong with this virtual world it won't happen because debs seem to be enjoying the drama. Like why those worthless kardashians are famous. |

Without selling officer gear you would only get what you salvaged or got from lab/boxes so it would be better than if people with billions buying them all (what's happening now) even newbs would use them provided they have required skills. |

Thanks for the compliment. The game needs a lot of things! The hard part is prioritizing, and making the most use of CCP's limited resources. Here would be my list in order of importance 1.) Performance: The first thing that turns players off Dust. Silly glitches, Scotty errors, invisible walls, sticky floors, annoying terrain and overall clunkyness have no place in a modern shooter. 2.) Fun: This one is pretty broad and means a lot of things. Long story short every player should be able to turn on Dust and have a good time. Different things are fun to different people so Dust needs to do a better job of everything it's currently trying to do. Pubs should be a casual pick-up-and-play mode with a better matchmaking system, and an appropriate learning curve will graduate players into FW and PC. 3.) NPE: This game is bad at NPE. We've lost a lot of players because of it. I've already made lists of WA to improve this. But there needs to be a proper learning curve for new players. 4.) Customization: Customize everything! Customization is one of the most addicting parts of any game, including Dust, but it can do better. We need to customize our guns, Warbarges, Merc quarters HUD's, corporate HQ maps etc. Everything! 5.) Port: When the time is right, drop this fixed up game on the next gen (with a bundle of goodies for everyone who played on PS3) 6.) Profit
I think the reason for the lack of popularityand a good NPE has always been due to pub stomps...
Those who played from the beginning learned squads where the ultimate game changer, shared passive scans, more wp for orbitals and better payouts, and knowing you had someone on the team that could multiply team efficiency ( logi with equipment, heavy for meat shield, assault for speed, scout for scans and flanking )
This is why I have advocated no squads in pubs (JUST PUBS) and removing the leave battle option so matchmaker can do its job, since it's made moot when "good" players leave when odds seem bad taking massive sp advantages with them. When real reasons to quit arise you can always hit the power button.

Remove ISK and you remove one of the few things that makes Dust different from other FPS: asset loss. Lot of player's know my standpoint on the dogma that is risk/reward and asset loss. I came from Eve Online, so obviously there is a certain bias at hand but I have always had the volition that you should absolutely have to consider the loss of everything in a war-game like Dust 514. The in-game economy is incredibly important to me, however little of an economy it may be, and I've always held the stand-point that if it is free, it should come at some sort of cost, performance or otherwise. It pains me to see so many players running around with APEX and BPO suits and even more so to watch the escalation from Militia BPOs, which do have a performance loss, to Standard BPOs, and now APEXs. I understand that it is a necessary evil, however. I don't like it. Never have. I know a lot of players will contest me on that and say they just want to have fun, and that is fine. However I think a big contributing factor to what made Dust 514 as niche as it is -was- that consideration of value. That emphatic feeling of "Hah! I killed an officer suit using only standard gear!". That feeling, however, is de-valued whenever the gear being run is free (Militia, Standard, APEX) or too plentiful (officer). I am passionate about this sort of thing and I think that sort of makes me a minority among the community, perhaps even the CPM, and I've made my standpoint on that very... very clear.
So what about removing squads from pubs (PUBS !) so pub stomping is near impossible.... It's been a major turnoff for most new players from my experience. |

Agreed... The black ops franchise does very well and assets are not lost in that game. |

Closing on 150 mil on my main... There is a counter to anything but skill level. I never have to switch, but when you hit the weekly cap and all missions are done I do. |
