I was playing an Acquisition match and I came across those inactive terminals. I thought to myself what they could be used for. Then I thought, "What if they were all active at once?" Then this idea popped into my head.
What if each terminal was like a territorial claim unit gaining access to the land around it for the capturing team.
So how it would work.
At the beginning of the match there are 20 or so neutral terminals. There would be no clone limit. Each terminal would control 5% of the maps territory. The team with the greatest percentage of territory at the end of, say 10 minutes, is the victor. If it is s tie, then the match continues until one team gains more than 50%. Since the terminals determine the land ownership for the team, any installations (CRU, Supply Depot, and Turrets) would be yours to use if your team had the terminal they were located within.
Thoughts and feedback are welcome!

EDIT: There would be no MCC, no NULL Cannons, no clone limit, installation ownership is based on if you control the territory, and winning is based on how much territory your team controls after the time limit has been reached. The only thing that I can possibly see that is even remotely close to skirmish is the fact you have to hack terminals.

Even better is to do what I mentioned in my CPM platform which is to have what would be called "overlays". It would be something that changes the aspects of a match. You'd have skirmish or Dom, but then the overlay would tweak things to mix it up. There could be Land War, Zero G (which would allow for the myos to be like they were for jumping), Capture the flag (which would be simply occupying an area rather than hacking a point.)
Overlay would provide a third method of winning or simply add variety. I didn't realize something like this was already thought up. But regardless, you have some interesting ideas. Especially a tertiary form of victory.

Thoughts and feedback are welcome! This is a fantastic idea and I fully support it. Ninja hackers will reign supreme. Well thank you. And yes, ninja hackers would be prominent.
