At my many attempts getting use to shield type suits. This is the best I have ever done so far.

I was actually surprised how well I did...
If anyone wants to know. This is the fit I used.

I use a similar one for ISK profit.
4 extenders
1 energizer
2 regs
1 dampener
Adv RR and basic Bolt Pistol.
Works extremely well for my playstyle. Sucks at cities though, so I always try to stay on the home objectives. |

take a assault ck0 with a kk rr and sit on a little perch somewhere in dom and spit into the mass, easy 20 kills
or in ambush take a ishy arr and you can earn up to 30+ kills

Try using basic with basic modules. Yeah, it kinda needs complex to be good, not a good thing.

I just recently picked up my cal assault again and I can honestly say I love this suit... but there is something that needs to be worked on it is the shield recharge delay... I think ccp should knock off one second from most suits shield delay

Playing a similar fit at proto lvl (ISKs are made to be used!), and I can tell this is a really efficient one as long as you know your range. Definitely not a cqc suit, but will do great as an hit and run suit!

solo;

just dropped five 40+ kill games in a row (LOL matchmaking) with it and an mk.0 assault lastnight

I use the following fit for my Assault ck.0.
3x Complex Shield Extenders
2x Enhanced Shield Energizers
2x Complex Regulators
1x Complex Kincat
Kalaakiota Rail Rifle
Bolt Pistol
Lai Dai AV grenades
K-2 Nanohive
Good delays and great regen but low shield buffer. I use it mostly to camp rooftops since it's the only thing shields are useful for.

Can I offer you some words of advice, as a man who only specialized in the Caldari when we were stuck with it in beta? Or rather, as a man who specializes(used to specialize) as a Gallente assault, the natural enemy of the Caldari assault...?
Switch out that Bolt Pistol for a SMG. Seriously. No. SERIOUSLY. I'm sure you know how to use that Rail Rifle based on that K/D, but that Bolt Pistol will slow you down when it comes to facing your real enemies who's going to be all up in your apple butter. Gallente might armor tank, but with reps as our main thing, we're much more mobile than the Amarrian variant. And if you're facing someone worth their salt, they're going to close the distance before they fire their rifle at you. When that happens, as I'm sure you know, the rail rifle loses it's viability due to range efficiency. This is when you, the much more mobile Caldari, who might have a nanohive up to dance around, spray the sucker like a roach. Same with a Minmatar who's real danger is just their speed.
Also Kin-Cats might be a thing to look into, but then I'm not too sure how the fittings have changed since a year ago.
Also another piece of advice. For you, the hardest Gallente kills are the one's with a proper balance of armor and rep, which means they're going to be mobile, fast repping, and with a good endurance. If they're over-armored, they can keep up with you nor can they run from your long distance fire. If they're under-armored, when they do get up on you, the SMG will cut them like butter.
