I did not want to start a thread for each item, so here are my comments from first impression. I wrote them as I played the first time, and so reflect a fresh look at the game. Some of them I don't agree with anymore, but I feel it should be put out there anyway to get an idea of what a new player trying this F2P game might see (in the Beta of course):
1. When looking at the information of items (especially the variations), there is often an unacceptably long delay, leaving us to think that there is something wrong with the UI 2. The price for skill books should appear in the skill list, at least for unacquired skills, also it should show the ISK since we buy directly from there 3. Why is the Amar heavy suit skill not in the list 4. In the skill list, the word "cost" should not be used to refer to skill points because it tends to refer more to price 5. The skill multiplier should not be with the skill name, it makes it confusing with the skill level, maybe color could be used to hint at it 6. In the skill list, it should be made clear that the "available" skills refer to skills for which you have the prerequisites 7. In the fitting screen, the selection should rotate around with the left-right direction buttons, it would make it easier that the weird way it works now. 8. There should be more info about the selected slot in the fitting screen (type of slot, if fitted, the fitted item, ...) 9. In the market place and assets there should be a way to filter by slot type 10. The end of match music is a little too loud 11. There is no distinction in the marketplace between BPOs and BPCs 12. There are modules in the default fitting that I can't use on new fittings: e.g. damage modifier, swarm launcher, kinetic catalyzer. It makes it more confusing than anything. I understand the need for people that just want to jump in the fray, but give them one militia Jumpsuit with basic militia items (for which they have the BPOs). 13. Spawn camping is too easy; I get killed before the scene is even rendered, let alone fire a shot or look around. 14. The weapons need some serious rebalancing. Some points: - The shotguns, as they stand, are completely useless. -áFrom ten feet , 5 shots failed to kill a standard militia drop suit. -á COMPLETELY useless.-á - Submachine guns are ineffective - Sniper rifles are too weak 15. In the marketplace it should not show the skills books for the skills that we already have. There is no use for them, and we can't even sell them if we buy by mistake.-á 16. In the fitting screen some items are red in the selection list and it is not clear why 17. There should be a marker for your position in the overview map 18. The indicator for the direction of fire seems to be wrong on a regular basis, unless rounds get through walls 19. The mini map is useless except to show your direction of travel. -áWhat it could and should show: -álimits of the field of battle very clearly (I have driven outside and got killed too many times), known enemy positions, enemies around you in direct line of sight, facilities (gun, spawn points, missile stations, ...) 20. Add a way to replace grenades with a forward looking flash bang, or directional EMP, generated by the suit that recharges over time, like the shield. |
