So I was playing the beta the other day and I said to my self while looking though my sniper scope "is that a friendly or a hostile? I can't tell :/" so I decided to bring it up on the forums in hopes that this can be fixed. Thanks to any who agree or to ccp if they listen to what I have to say. :) |

Apparently only some people get indicators over friends and enemies. I've seen screenshots and if I remember correctly even the presentation videos show names over allies and enemies but I personally have NEVER seen them while I was playing. This means the only way I can tell if someone is friendly or not is to look at my minimap (which only works at close range) or see if my crosshairs stick or turn red when I point it at them (which usually only works at close range). I assume the Devs are aware of this? I haven't seen a post from them saying so though. |

I would LOVE to see just the faintest of faint red or blue/green outline or 'glow' to enemies and friendlies alike, maybe even an adjustable scale within reason. Once they are 'legal' to actually see that is, within the confines of what the gameplay mechanics allow of course. I truly think the red "V" as an indicator is lacking. And as much as I do not want this game to be like Halo in sooo many ways, One thing that I could see myself being a big fan of is having the aforementioned 'glow' or 'aura' be somewhat augmented for hit detection feedback. To see it shimmer or vibrate slightly or flash. I do get what I need from seeing the shield and armor bars get whittled down but it leaves a little to be desired and leaves also I think, room for improvement to set it apart as well. I don't mean to contradict myself about Halo, I just think knowing that you are hitting an enemy for damage or not is paramount to enjoyment which relates exponentially to going back into the battle again and again. I realize it is getting addressed in the upcoming update and I cant wait to see how it all pans out in future builds as well. |
