Now I would like to start a discussion about what can be done to help make this game better and I would love some serious feedback and not trolling . Please allow CCP the chance to hear what YOU , it's community believe ... would help to improve the game as it is because it's ( IMO ) lacking on / in so many levels but it's not issues that can not be solved with some honesty , hard work and understanding on your part ( The Community ) as well as CCP .
We need to speak up and voice out opinions and not personal agenda's so hopefully no one would speak about what they would like and instead , talk about the general welfare of the game and what can be done to improve it so that the game can get better and hopefully we can remedy some of the issues that plague this game and start to increase numbers and revenue , so that performance issues can be solved as well .
Please address performance issues as well so that we can all understand issues that plague this game that some might experience , where others might just be lucky as to not have come across .
I will mention what I believe at a later time , I just would like to see some feedback then I will give my own at that time but I just would like to see how others feel and the amount of feedback that this thread gets as far as responses .
Again , please .. look past your own agenda and think about the wellbeing of the game and what can be done to clean up issues , as well as what are the issues that you might have that you feel need to be addressed to help this game thrive .
Thank you for your support .

To me , CCP should partner with those who support this game on YouTube and provide links to those involved so that they can allow these same to help promote the game as well as saving themselves the time and efforts as far as setting up the ways and means themselves .
This would help those who already use YouTube for Dust as well as show a system of a collective , meaning ... lending a helping hand by promoting those who are already promoting the game but just becoming more involved in the process .
Have their YouTube sights / links in the newsletter , allow more people to acquire the newsletter because there are many that don't and don't even know that one exist .
I'm sure that some who create episodes , wouldn't mind creating Tutorials for new players and for those who just don't have enough information about Dust 514 , EVE and New Eden as well .
Allow these people to help the community to feel like their more a part of what's going on and not just for $h1t's and giggles , pardon the pun .
I think that would help as well as save CCP the time and effort because you already have these same people creating footage to watch .
I see others using this method such as Madden , Destiny , NBA 2K and Day Z among others which I'm sure that many of you see for other titles .
This problem could easily be addressed in my mind with a concentrated effort .

zDemoncake wrote:Servers need some support Definitely but that goes hand and hand with revenue and that's something this game is lacking because it doesn't have the numbers needed to help it progress .
You can't rely on the same people ( IMO ) to fund this game so that it can profit because their resources are limited themselves and they have other day to day issues that they have to address so , that's a hard thing to deal with if this game is just not attractive to new consumers .
That's a tough situation to be in .
People ask for marketing when it must be difficult for CCP because that phase is basically nil and again , your feeding off the same people and not bringing in any new numbers as well as revenue because you can't attract new blood .
Having the those who use YouTube might help and that's why I talked about that , not just for newer players and tutorials but for promotion .
YouTube has billions of hits a day and that's potential consumers that this game is missing out on and desperately needs .
You would support the YouTube community that's supporting you by garnering their help , which creates revenue for them through their accounts and their helping CCP through their efforts and the attention that their work as well as the work CCP does by sending them attention to support their efforts .
One hand washing the other .
IMO too much time has gone by and has been wasted but again , CCP has gone threw a lot of changes as well as loosing some of their community threw those changes .
I would love to see the numbers rise again and more attention brought to the game and that would create the revenue that's needed for the support that they need but you need people that are willing to work together as well as talking about such to begin with .

I agree with Demon. Main thing I have heard right now is deployment failures. That and the lag, that to some, is crippling. I think those are the two biggest. The lag can be fixed and once it is, a chunk of other problems vanish. I would be fine for the game to go down for a week to eliminate server problems. A good bit would probably agree.

To help CCP to see that their loosing the people who care the most about the game but hopefully they will see that they still have the support of these same because they are that passionate about what's going on here so something can be done to retain these same who are feeling the same way that you mentioned .
Hopefully they will see this and understand how much their community cares about what's going on and the fact that were willing to put forth the effort to make this happen so that the game can succeed .

I just don't know if they would but they should .
More games are coming out and more consumers are leaving for what they see as something better and that hurts the game because your loosing numbers and that hurts the company in the long run .
This game , when it's running well .. is like no other out there and it could be something special but when it's the way that it is now with the obvious problems of not even being able to deploy , there's not much to say or do besides spend your time doing other things .
That's not Dust related .

oh and honestly there's an obvious answer to your question, porting it to PC, PC allows for the game to grow beyond its boundaries as well as allowing CCP to use any resources they have an their knowledge of the PC to make dust into something bigger then it can be on a console, and sure it could grow some on next gen platforms but those too will sooner or later be outclassed by the generation after that which is not the case on PC not only that but no other third party would have to be involved making it easier for the devs to do whatever it is that they want with the game at any moment they want instead of having to wait for approval You know what .?. I believe that their moving to PC but just will not allow themselves to go down that same " laser focus " road again , that's just my feeling though .
I would be sad because I don't have a gaming rig but it might and I say a small might ... but it might just cause me to get one but not just because of Dust but Steam as well .
I wouldn't be surprised if they did that though but I would love to see a port to the PS4 since I already have one but I'm not one who would pressure them for a response because they have a lot going on at the moment it seems .
Sometimes when thing like the issues that were going threw at the moment happens , it shows what's going on behind closed doors and it shows that there going threw some issues of their own right now so , I wouldn't be too hard on them at the moment but very few have patience these days .

sometimes you have to lose something to know its value, and sometimes you have to lose it to know how to save it
my point is that it's already hard enough as it is with the resources available to make dust bigger and better especially with all the restraints and a community that tends to lash out whenever anything big or small happens
honestly sometimes I think it'd be best if they stopped caring about the community altogether and just focused on making the game the best they can with what is available to them not to make any of you happy or to make more money, but perhaps that's what we need so dust gets more attention, but instead to make it into the best game it can be in its current situation
I know the Rat man has a passion for dust and I doubt that he wants to see this game die but honestly why would he want any of the toxic part of dust to stay if they don't add any value to the game and instead devalue it by giving bad publicity and making it harder for those that do support the game to stay
meh that's just my opinion tho I could care less about how much people complain about how broken or how terrible the game is, after all its FREE! and wake up buddy if you spent money on the game like I have you should know that that was a conscious decision you made on your part, regret it or not, you have no one but yourself to blame if you do regret doing so
I like many others will keep playing dust till we either have no other reason to or simply cannot do so anymore for whatever reason

I mean with all their big updates this really disappoints me. Nobody cares about the big updates, I didn't ask for a Warbarge, I know the community didn't. But you know what they asked for again and again ? The small updates, the little things need to be fixed.

work on finishing muddy unfinished beta textures, smooth and sharpen edges so it's not all blocky, improve the frame rate, lower the draw distance for the mountainous background, improve render distance for installations and clones, remove pointless weather effects.
better servers, more bug fixes, general performance improvements.

better servers, more bug fixes, general performance improvements. I would love to see more or any for that matter , performance issues resolved before we get another addition to the game .
Even if it's ADS's and DS's , it wouldn't make much sense to add on with how the game is performing at the moment .
Just tried to get into a match and the finder told me that there were " No Battles " , even in FW ... something needs to be done to help the performance of this game and also to address old bugs and glitches that have plagued this game for years now .
It's kind of like shooting themselves in the foot to allow these issues to persist , that alone is driving away players .

I'd argue we are already doing a good job in what we can do to help this game out.
Several of the most anticipated / bigger features coming are ones that have had heavy community influence, or have been more or less entirely community ideas.
We constantly have consistently had feedback threads in the past on features added, and several people (such as a few current CPM 2 members) who have put in days worth of hard work spreadsheeting and calculating every bit out. Our community is rather unique in the fact that many arguments ultimately boil down to ones of logic and arithmetic with many people getting into the fine points of which decimal points are too much or too little.
I'll also be the first to admit it can be hard for the casual player or the newbro to feel that influence or to see the impact such actions have. DUST (especially since Rattati) has a strong history of accepting player feedback, and acting upon it, but more often than not the rest of the community does not get to see that effort as player contribution. I'd argue this problem could even be somewhat alleviated if some effort when into cataloging specific players who were key contributors to features / ideas (although that has its own set of pitfalls) and displaying them in a way that even the casual player can see and understand player impact on this game's development.
