It makes no sense. The bonuses for Gallente suits are for blasters not railguns. They're both hybrids, but blasters are short range, which is what Gallente is all about, all armour and stuff. Caldari are more about long range sniping, using railguns, and shields. It makes no sense to equip a Gallente suit with a railgun. |

why not the combat rifle? because it needs that minmatar clip bonus.
why not the scrambler rifle? because it needs the amarr heat bonus.
The rr and the ar don't need either bonus to be effective, so players choose the one with double the range.
You still would be better off in a Caldari suit if you're gonna use railguns. I guess if you want to stick to armour you might make the compromise. |

Yep, same sort of thing in EvE. But one thing the EvE players will never do is use inappropriate weapons for the bonuses on the ship. Same with suits. I think it's strange though, that the railgun or blaster bonuses don't extend to all hybrids. Rails and blasters are virtually the same technology.
Actually, noobs do use the wrong weapons for the bonuses. I guess that might be the case here, for players that are just trying to get the best of everything as fast as possible. |

Simply put, the scrambler rifle on an ak.0 assault was a problem, melting through shield suits. People started using the gal assault with a rail rifle because the gal assault has more reps & speed than an ak.0 and the rail rifle has the CQC capabilities of the combat rifle & more range.
But the Gallente bonuses mean nothing? Interesting. |
