Officer gear is, in my opinion, too effortless to obtain and is quite powerful for being almost completely free. Using modules in the Warbarge you can obtain officer gear just by logging in daily with no cost. You can also obtain them via salvage boxes with keys, so that is a minimum of one chance per day for every player.
What is even more confounding is that you can buy the keys for the salvage boxes in bundles, which I am fine with, but being able to buy both the keys and the boxes isn't optimal. Without boxes added into the bundle the player is at least forced to play the game in order to produce the gear but being able to buy both keys and boxes allows players to throw money at the problem.
TL;DR Officer gear needs to be a lot more difficult to obtain.

TL;DR Officer gear needs to be a lot more difficult to obtain. Yeah I guess. Atm I don't mind that. I saw true power in officer stomp like today. And I have enough to run
That's part of the problem =P
Wealthy players can afford to buy the officer gear they use off other players, but it's where that gear comes from that is the issue. It is far too plentiful for that level of power.
