The ability to actively drop corp mates into a specific match on a given planet.
While I'm not sure how the whole player-made-contract system is going to work, I hope there is more for a corp to do in support of a battle besides just Orbital Strikes.
I would like the ability for a corp to bring reinforcements to a side on the surface (as shown in the kick-ass trailer), perhaps adding those players to the cap of the team they are in support of. So, say a fight is 16 on 16, you drop another 6 guys (must be in your corp, queued up for a "drop") and can be loaded instantly onto a specific point on the map, then are subject to the general spawn mechanics of the game, or can only spawn from a similarly-dropped CRU. Then the fight is 16v24.
Perhaps this option should only be open for defenders, so as to not heinously over-blow a fight an attacker was already prepared for. I'm assuming the attackers (if they have bombardment support) would be more prepared to attack with ships in space, so a blockade runner shooting down a CRU onto the battlefield with 6 more guys could be a last-ditch effort on the defense side (especially if the Skyfire batteries can be disabled by the assaulting team, or even captured in support of the attacking team).
This would add more meaning to being a part of an EVE corp for the Dust guys, and add another layer of interactivity between the games.
Just spit-balling, flame away. |

Not going to flame.
We should hopefully be getting corps in the next patch and CCP have already promised Corp battles. We've been told that these will NOT be balanced i.e if we have 32 and you have 6, then tough - you're about to get canned. Presumably the battles will still be capped at 32 per side since the server won't handle more than 32v32 at this point.
The downside of an Eve ship "bringing reinforcements" is that your DUST character would be sitting looking at a blank screen while an eve player Autopilots from Jita. As I understand it you will be able to log in your DUST character and Clone Jump or Pod yourself to the battle location and get started straight away without waiting.
Your eve corp will be able to support you with ISK and equipment and will likely be directing specific contracts to you . Hopefully the market is local to your system/station so that items have to be moved to the correct system in Eve to be available to DUST players.
Yes, the skyfire batteries can be captured, and probably destroyed like other assets in the game. Different shiptypes have different effects - the bigger the ship weapon, the more deadly the OB. I've heard speculation that an OB from a Titan will raze the map entirely
It would be good to actually Drop onto the battlefield rather than wake up in a spawn point though.
A shared ready Room with Eve and DUST players should not be impossible, but unfortunately probably won't happen for a while.
TL;DR we should be getting a lot of what you want in a few weeks. |

Yea, I was thinking it'd be the EVE-like way of waiting for an engagement to go down, not necessarily having the Dust guys bound to the interior of a ship, or in any way physically flying through space, maybe only activated once the drop pod is away (by way of a pop-up notifying you to jump to that clone, even if you are mid-battle elsewhere?)

The part about being overbalanced is awesome to hear. And I've definitely seen a ton of interviews where they say 32v32 is the max, but they always add in that "for now" that CCP is notorious for when talking about Dust. I'm just dying for that part in the trailer to be a reality in game, even if it was loosely based off of a scene from "Templar One," and mechanic-wise it doesn't really seem to be a perk if all it does is take an existing player in a match and allow them to drop somewhere else from orbit when the same thing can be done via drop ships in game... I'd assume it'd have to be some form of scale-tipping mechanic instead. |

Yes please! More ideas and/or info from Devs on how this will be integrated with EVE! THAT is what makes DUST different. That is the life sustaining force that will keep the game relevant and suck people into playing for years...
-Ship sensors that reveal the entire map - they can verbally communicate (or transfer the information) to their contracted bunnies.. -Ability to drop in vehicles/support/structures? -Precision bombardment, area of effect bombardment, other bombardment types? -Required to transport attack troops (clones) before you can engage in an attack -Channels for smacktalk between games? -How can contracts be customized?

I think it would be cool if Dreads could drop out of warp and perform like a mini War barge.... Just like in the Lore
It would be a crude variant designed for hit and runs with limited support, but much more mobile and harder to see coming.... like a quick strike mission to start the timers on planets maybe, no armour maybe a few LAV's and low clone limit. |

CCP is crazy i know, but a ship transporting troops or anything dosent sound like fuild gameplay regarding the level of speed FPS games need.
A game has to stand on its own. Besides, the "ship" of DUST is the MCC, wich has access to equipment thru the market wich seems to not be bound to any location like what happens in EVE, where markets are bound to stations.
If supplies are to be supplied directly from a EVE corp to a DUST corp, I believe it will be thru contracts, wich dosent even mean the assets will have to be in the same system. |

I like the ship sensors idea.
Perhaps some sort of Combat Information Center module not the ship. Then it has to be stopped in orbit around the planet and targeting the battlefield and while it is doing that, all of the allied troops have visual on the entire map.
Balance could be an issue and i am not sure how much ECM and ECCM will play a role in dust battles but of course ECM would affect the ability of the ships sensors to pick you up. Could be interesting tactic to allow the enemy to see most of your stuff, just not the EWAR dropship full of snipers you have hidden to do ambushes.
I also like the different forms of bombardment ideas. Area denial via missile spam is a great idea IMO. There are other cool ways of doing bombardment as well.
I am still very curious how DUST will affect the economics of Eve in a way that would actually make DUST MEANINGFUL to Eve players. (Tech moons anyone?) |
