how well does it compare to flying with a controller? do you consider it easier or any aspect of it to be more desirable such as aiming?
do you feel like you have more control over you vehicle?
I am considering switching to KB/M what would you recommend buying as far as the compatible devices go, would a gaming pad be better then the keyboard? and with or without a joystick?

Clunky, sure, but satying rock still and killing a installation at a perfect angle at high alt is near impossible with a controller, because the target retcicule moves of its own volition. I saw it, but never tried myself. The controller allows way more finesse in maneuverablity. Its easy to see how the keyboard gives you much more accuarcy. keyboard controls
yeah this is what I am looking for I'll probably stick to controller for dog fighting and such but I need to be able to control it with more precision to get the most out of it if possible, and I am very comfortable using either but I'd just prefer to have the option to use both
I want to hear from some experienced pilots to see what their thoughts are so far it seems not many actual pilots have been responding but any insight is good I'll end up buying a new KB/M set possibly a game pad just wanted to know what I am getting myself into ahead of time so I don't have to figure everything out on my own

being able to aim well while controlling the drop ship with precision is what I am looking for this can be done on a controller but the way things work are wacky and you need to do some risky maneuvers at times if you make a small miscalculation
being able to use one hand for control while I use the other to aim and fire with precision at least more then a joystick can provide given that the mouse works better? such as is the case with a sniper rifle or so I have heard
if anyone can confirm this or knows someone with more insight I'd appreciate the info

You can open and close bay doors with a controller too. It's the X button. I do that all the time. Freaks my gunners out. But to the OP, vehicles in general are pretty dodgy on KB/M, but certainly playable. I'm not sure you'll find much of an improvement from the controller, but it might help if that's the layout you are accustomed to.
cant be as bad as the PS move controls are, I'm not overall looking for improvements I'm just wondering how precise it is compared to controllers
holding a controller for long periods puts some strain on my wrist and as I tend to play an extended amount of dust daily KB/M would be much easier for me to use as I am already accustomed to PC gaming and if dust was on PC I would rather play it there then on a console
I can also click faster and be more precise with a mouse so I'm kinda looking forward to OP double tap mouse clicks, as I have accustomed myself to, very useful for using semi auto weaponry I would imagine
the biggest concern is the aiming precision on a mouse if its worse then a controller then there's no point in me using it to pilot an assault drop ship, the main use would be to hover around killing ground targets while I would stick to using a controller for aerial dog fights till I can accustom myself to all the maneuvers I am used to doing with a controller
