Same here. My reason is if I squad with someone 95.9999999999998% of the time they'll be running scrubmo... I mean domination and I personally hate com I'd rather lose soloing a skirm or acq than win running dom/amb

I know 'zactly what you mean....i think about it all the time when playing solo. Back when we had icons in team chat i looked forward to occasionally squadding up with other lone wolves, we usually did serious damage as a two-man crew.

I play solo 90% of the time. I go positive most of the time. If lag wasnt an issue id play more often. I know im a good player cuz i didnt cheat to get my KDR up not that KDR matters to me. Since i earned my 1.89 kdr using mostly starter gear i think im an average gamer so being solo isnt a bad thing.

I hardly solo anymore. I use to when I first started, but I joined my corp and started to squad. It is so much more fun. For me I enjoy the social aspect of squading. We joke around, share stories and have fun.

playing with a squad is only fun if the people you are with are fun to squad with, they might be funny on coms or just have a great personality or be one of the best at a certain role or use troll fits
but simply squadding up to win in non competitive matches is just being a tryhard, seriously full proto teams in pubs gets stale and I understand that you might like winning but come on if you are going to run proto 24/7 at least do it in FW and PC
winning doesn't feel as accomplishing in a squad as it does solo against some random proto squad of proto players
some people may not be able to play solo because they are too reliant on a squad to be able to do anything but that doesn't mean there aren't good solo players out there, myself not included I suck at this game
also if you think playing solo is bad try playing solo in a shield suit with AA turned off
I've been playing mostly solo since I began playing I don't generally like squadding up other then to do PC or FW or if helping out a new player same goes for using proto gear although recently I have been using it more often as I've noticed more often then not half the other team is using it as well
my point being just because you have a hard time playing solo doesn't mean others do as well, and I like playing these forum games almost up to level 1

You could always just not voice. Most of the time when I'm squadded, I'm not actually voiced.
For number 2 & 3, you should try leading the squad yourself, then YOU could set the orders!  It's really not as difficult as it sounds. Just whap the defend order on someone to milk a few extra WP, that's it.

You can get a lot of kills running solo but its hard to win sometimes. You cant put down uplinks, be a heavy holding point, swarm the ADS all at the same time.

I've been playing solo Gallente FW the past week or so.
F*** me my arse is sore. We win like 1 battle out of 10 if we are REALLY lucky. Most matches I have absolutely 0 top squads yet Caldari time after time has proto squads, coordinated teams etc... It has been a learning experience thats for sure.
I want the LP regardless but I struggle to understand why the Gallente team is so weak now and Caldari are so strong??
That plus the latency when it puts an EU player up against South Americans.....

It is insinuated that this is primarily a team-based game but given the lack of a concise and dedicated effort to get people into squads and allow teams to communicate you'd figure otherwise.
We have no way of communicating with our team except through voice chat but that's a punchline by itself. Ever since the UI optimization that killed in-battle comms you can't join a squad once in a battle. The squad finder doesn't really do much to help find -the right squad- as opposed to just any squad. About the only way you can communicate with your team-mates as a solo player is by angry hand gestures and occasionally pressing 'x' to watch the guy with the nanite injector run in the opposite direction as indicated by the growing distance between him and you.
But apart from that there isn't much actual reward to being -in a squad- in the first place. Sure, there is theoretically a greater tactical aspect through voice comms but if you don't have that you're almost entirely reliant on inconsistent squad orders. But further more there is no actual gameplay benefit to doing so apart from marginally increased WP gains in completely circumstantial and situational areas. Being a squad leader on the other hand is quite fulfilling with orbitals...
So, if we're expected to play Dust 514 as a Team-based Tactical Shooter, we need to emphasize on that, rather than bitching at people about how the game wasn't made to run solo.

sounds bad but i play solo so i can back out of games, like if you're in a good corp and they're redlining, you're just sat there shaking your head, want to back out but then you'd leave the squad behind and next game you may run into another squad. |

no way, if i go solo and a squad happened to be Q'ing up as well, i would be put on the opposite team to 'balance' out the match.

yeah but most people don't know how to access squad commands from their clone we need a tutorial for that it's so simple that everyone should know how to do it

So much emphasis is placed on squads , where the TEAM is the key to any victory ... a loss is from a lack of team cohesion and support , I play solo almost EVERY match and I can deal with the losses when I see my TEAM going hard . I've been on some good squads and lost because of team and I've been solo and won against some good teams with stacked squads and we won by playing as a TEAM .
So many make such a fuss about seeing who goes against whom and the problems stem from stacked squads and teams going against random lesser players .
Any stacked team and squad can be beat if the opposition is playing like a unit .
That's where most of the problems arise , placing a bunch of random players against groups who know each other well .
Squads against squads and random players against the like and this game would overcome one of it's greatest problems , the lack of vision that allows something that could be so great to be mediocre or even less then .

If you're a person that really cares about your k/d solo can really suck sometimes. The only reason I care about my k/d in a match is so I don't hurt my team when it comes to clone count. Honestly if it's not my game and I feel i'm going to hurt my team with a bad k/d I will leave the match, not ashamed of it either.

I used to be a solo king. Me with a 2 or 3 kdr and no one else on the team with a positive kdr as a worst case scenario. I actually did worse in a squad of my friends because everyone was so pro at stealing kills :p Getting the most insanely high scores was only possible when I went solo.

Agreed. This is how I learned how to play. Solo carry my team. Solo capture a point on the map with me vs 6. I'd always win. well not always. tbh my 1st month I sucked. 2 months in I was barely getting a 1/1 kdr. It took me 4 months to become good and 6 to become amazing :p
My scores in proto were actually not that much higher than my scores in advanced gear. I never really needed proto. Not unless I was facing ancient exiles and tbh it was only like less than 15 ancient exiles I had to watch out for. They actually recruits A TON of bad people so I never feared them. I already knew who their A-team was. Considering I fought them in pc several times a day for a couple months. The same freaking people.. it sucked and after that I became an activist for helping new players get better on the game because fighting the same exact people was boring.
One day I am going to be on survivor and I will kick ass.

Agreed. This is how I learned how to play. Solo carry my team. Solo capture a point on the map with me vs 6. I'd always win. well not always. tbh my 1st month I sucked. 2 months in I was barely getting a 1/1 kdr. It took me 4 months to become good and 6 to become amazing :p
My scores in proto were actually not that much higher than my scores in advanced gear. I never really needed proto. Not unless I was facing ancient exiles and tbh it was only like less than 15 ancient exiles I had to watch out for. They actually recruits A TON of bad people so I never feared them. I already knew who their A-team was. Considering I fought them in pc several times a day for a couple months. The same freaking people.. it sucked and after that I became an activist for helping new players get better on the game because fighting the same exact people was boring.
One day I am going to be on survivor and I will kick ass.

My issue is not my own play style. It is more about being used as a filler when soloing by match making when the opposing team is stacked. At least put me with some other good players in my team rather than the ones that shoot at the mcc  |

What do you prefer, facing players that have no clue you can shoot or facing players that can kill you?
I think once time passes everybody wants to crank up difficulity level.
Ps. In pubs people should watch their clone count more carefuly. Too many times people mindlessly throw out clones without any benefits.

I think you didn't understand.
Refering to OP I meant that one sided battles are harder (difficulty level, kind of) thus better than stomping (enemies).
These are the most common types and being on the weaker side is less boring.

Yeah when I was rich I would run proto. But now I run all advanced and get the same score. Only time I run proto now days is av. Lol

My favorite was the domination I played earlier.
10 v 15 (me on the 10 side)
Only me and three other people were even fighting. It was quite fun until the enemy got sick of me picking off any stragglers and started ganging up on me and my poor little dominus sentinel.
Remove NPC orbitals from FW. -- Fix orbital timers for Eve players assisting in Planetary Conquest.
