The last time I felt as disappointed and upset with this game as I am now Michael Epic convinced me not to quit. His words of hope no longer resonate with me though. I play too many matches where I actually feel like I am being punished for something.
What motivates you people to continue playing this game? |

There is no reason to continue playing. After almost 3 yrs of playing I think I just need to quit. I should invest in drugs or something next

I still love the game, but it seems like so many people enjoy doing everything but FPS stuff after joining matches.
I don't play through it anymore though. I just turn it off after 2 or 3 crap matches in a row. |

I think all the added features have exacerbated the hoarding mentality.
The only thing CCP should be focusing on is expanding team play and creating an environment where winning matters no matter the game mode. |

Same reason why I never complain about a cloak in any game. I spent hundreds of hours, maybe 1000 hours spotting that shimmer in all kinds of silly terrain.

I log in and collect my WB junk, try to get into a match. If my team actually stays in the match, I'll stay if not I just turn the game off.
There's no way I'm going to bang my head TRYING to get a good game, if it's broken it's broken try again later.

Just leave the game for a while. Go and play other things. That's what I do, give this game a break for a month or two and when you come back it really feels fresh and fun again.
You will soon realise that there is a lot of generic BS in terms of games out there. Dust has many issues, problems and bugs but it has a depth to the game that many other FPS`s dont.

I went and played both Planetside 2 and Destiny on PS4 and they're dull as dishwater. The only thing failing dust is its utterly shocking connection. if dust had the match stability it'd be spot on. there is so much to do to customize your char compared to other games, i just hop a PC port comes along soon so dust can become the game it should and could have been

Every couple of months I'll hop on for a match or two, and every so often I'll come across a halfway competent Incubus pilot and we'll have a good dogfight. That's the only thing exciting about this game.
The FPS part is just subpar at best, the mechanics in this game are very poorly coded and there are glitches and bugs everywhere. I used to be one of those fanboys who just ignored it but CCP has taken their toll on me, and I can only see what's actually there now.
And what's actually there now, is mostly abandoned and sub par.

I'm a fool for character progression and seeing a return on effort. First year was just keeping up hope the grind would pay off, to a point it did. Next was mastery of my role, which will never be complete. Now, it's maintaining the presence i created for myself & carving out my place in new eden. With an uncertain future for dust and contantly degrading quality of play (died more to lag than skill last night, took over a minute for my quarters to load after selecting my character) i am searching for purpose myself.

Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

I wanted to try every gun in its proto form.
I liked the guns.
Ps3 disc thingy broke and I wasn't allowed to fix it.
My Xbox was impounded.
Customization was to much. Made mess in pants.

Game was a mix of every thing I like.
Funner than cod about 90% of the time.

I'll never give up on the idea of what this game should be. If someone actually delivered on half the promises of Dust514, I'd never play another game. The universe is incredibly unique and engaging.
But alas, It is not meant to be.
But I'll still be checking on it, on the off chance that it does happen.

Meh... even if I get crap matches I usually just play for fun... and experiment with fits... I've wasted about 15 logibro's just attempting to punch a sent to death with my needle without any Mybrofils... while he had reps whores on him... That was a very fun experience... other than that... nothing really motivates me to continue playing... but if there was it would probably be the people i've met... We usually have good times... and even if we get our a$$es handed to us... in the end... someone makes a joke... and we forget all about it... other than said people... (Never squaded up or had an active corp @ the tank period which is when I left dust 514) So... i'd assume the community is what makes me stay... Yeah of course there are Scrubs, Trolls, and plain outright complete d!cks but... if you don't let them get to you what do you have to lose? So... yeah Cummunity is the best answer I could come up with...

Dust is like digital crack, once you get on that high after winning against proto, your instantly addicted. I had to move to stop playing and I went through withdrawals for 3 months

I like playing dust because its fun. Besides all the gliches i enjoy the game. I tried ps2 and warframe not really into it. Dust is the right fps for me. Thats all the reason i need. |

Today the rage actually built up so much I had to punch something, but since I didn't want the houses value to drop due to a hole in the wall, I went into the garage, due to harder walls, and wailed on the wall until I broke skin and bled(Don't worry I had a piece of cardboard against the wall and hit it. Although I did hit it hard enough that it ripped, Thus why I broke skin and bled a little). I then returned to Dust and played another domination. I went back to the garage 15 minutes after the game when a redline invisible swarm launcher took down my ADS.. Not to mention my team got stomped.... After I did my rage I decided maybe I should lay off Dust for the rest of the day... So now I'm on the forums and watching anime, resting my wounds... Drinking some good old welches sparkling wine(Non-alcoholic fun)
