Share your Dropship builds with me. I will be running through some test & feedback sessions, hopefully with someone with dust video capture. I have all modules available so all builds will be considered. Results will be posted on forums at a later date.

Easiest way to share would be to make your loadout on http://www.protofits.com/ and share the link here.

I just put dual reps on it with a speed boost mod thing. Forgot what's it called.

a friend an i used to use gorgons (and vipers, before they sucked) as a ghetto assault dropship.

one militia missile launcher, mix and match plates, hardners, and reps. Bring an AB and maybe a CRU, all militia, or STD.
there were times we ended up killing more than ADS pilots in the same game because we were more durable and my gunner could focus on shooting instead of flying and shooting.

Crewed dropships are great, I always get a nostalgic moment seeing one trying to survive in today's harsh sky, once that passes I take great pleasure in shooting them down with my railbus, which imo is a far more honourable death than the noob and release swarms that would kill them if they manage to be in anyway relevant on the battlefield.

At least the bus is still the garbage man of the sky.

Standard ships are a waste of assets honestly, they can accomplish nothing truly useful in an actual fight. They're too slow and require too many people in relation to their survivability and offensive capabilities. They're just WP sponges that can barely withstand a single pass from a skilled Incubus pilot, or any focused AV at all. Triple and quad rep'd Grimsnes are amusing but still easy enough to kill since they lack any offense or mobility.

If CCP had a dev team and resources for this game, removing standard ships all together in favor of revised Logi ships would be the way to go.

Good luck flying those coffins though o7

 Here are my NDS builds:
 - Grimsnes
8.9k ehp against rails, 8.9k ehp against swarms
 - Myron
7.4k ehp against rails, 8.1k ehp against swarms

I last tested those shortly after the last HAV rebelancing. It actually takes a damage modded *and* cooled proto railgun to take down the Grimsnes in one volley. Or two guys with Swarms.

Very effective fit if you have gunners on comms. I've gotten first place many times without ever leaving this DS in pubs and FW.

Edit: Tips on using this build.

Hit and run. If you hear swarms or get hit by a forge, activate afterburner, then booster, and fly to space until your modules recharge.

And coordinate with your team is a must. A squad on comms to spawn on your ship and drop off in key locations helps.

Scans allow your gunners to spot targets. The scans are also huge if you hover over blobs of enemies engaged in combat.

Only hover over an enemy blob already engaged in fighting, as they'll be less likely and too occupied to pull out AV.

Keep an eye out for noob Gallente pilots trying to ram

If you encounter an ADS, get your gunner to switch to rails. If you have two gunners, face forward so both can hit him and you will out DS him

Just how? Are your gunners that highly skilled?

Usually I have pretty good gunners when I get high scores in this DS. Even still, I've gotten high scores. With dedicated blueberries and no comms. Just need to use the scans to point out targets.

Also, continually getting Intel and spawn points all match helps.

Just like logistics, you are kinda dependant on your team

Awesome, thanks for sharing, I will add these to my loadouts for testing.
