On my main I'm a prototype tanker, and Prototype ADS. I absolutely love both, but I hate swarms. Swarms have been a problem for tanks and ADS for over a year. Below I will list the reasons why the swarm launcher need completely revamped.
Swarm launcher fire way to fast. If swarmer can fire 3 rounds off ( in 3 seconds ) and take half of my armor out, somethings not right.
They lock on too easy, there should be some type of skill involved with aiming. I hate it when swarmer's lock on and fire while looking up. Maybe you should have to follow it like a laser guided missile.
No user error, they have absolutely no user error whatsoever. Any noob can be a swarmer.
Follow you forever, ill be driving my Python. Then, ill activate boosters when incoming swarm. Then they follow me literally 1/2 across the map.
The volleys turn on the dime. A missile should not literally go around a rock and hit me. Also if I'm in a dropship ill go around a building and it'll still hit me.
Finally, their way to common and easy to obtain. Self - explanatory.
Ask any tanker/ADS and they will answer the same. I let 3 av ers use my tank today. And they were strongly with swarms, ( they though tanks were op. But after me letting them use the tank, the strongly agree with me. Please CCP give us tankers and ADS pilots break. Everything in the game can kill us.

FORCE MULTIPLIER < thats what vehicles are.
Stay with your team instead of trying to play god and the A/V will get wrecked before he gets 2 swarms out.

Though, it's not going to happen :3 What about tanks lol Swarms are not really a problem for tanks honestly. You can have so much more health, reps, hardeners, tons of stuff more then the drop ships. Swarms also do less damage and have a slower rate of fire then the assault forge gun.
I mean, you could pop some flare on your tank too if you really wanted to, but swarms have really made the ADS's useless. The tanks can still get by.

There is a reason there is a vehicle cap in matches and why they cost so much.
I've had three av's attacking my advanced tank at once and survived I had to run... but even 3 starter fits can take out officer suits when coordinating with ease. I've also destroyed Proto tanks that weren't paying attention in seconds.
You have an advantage vs 90% of the field but you don't get to be invincible.
As for dropships... You can out run a swarm with afterburners on... They only travel 400 m your DS can also engage them from outside their max lock range.
All this being said... I've killed Duna in his tank. Made me smile. |

More proof of how dumb this thread is. Forum based vehicle operators have been the biggest blight on this game since the day I started.

if a noob pilot like me can outrun swarms with no boost then im sure you can figure it out, perhaps you need to change your flight patterns

Oh, I've also tried to hide behind things only to have them curve around and get me... I don't think they are supposed to do that o.O
I also run the incubis too, so that armor damage is lethal... 3 volleys are normally throw my way by the time I can hit the thrusts to get out of there D:

Only possibility... You were hauling ass when your DS was destroyed then continued away from attacker and stayed in till it popped.

I have only dabbled in tanks on my alt that I never use which has about 12 million SP in only tanks and have not been on it since several updates ago.
I have watched a 4 man squad built around a well fitted tank wreck 12 - 14 people trying to hold a point with almost no assistance from their blueberries. 1 driver, 1 gunner, and 2 shot gun scouts clearing A/V and some infantry can and will clear an unlimited number of people if they are working together even remotely efficiently. This is exactly how a force multiplier is suppose to work and for the people that use it that way it works incredibly well.

As for doughing swarms in the air, it is near impossible . You need to be going full speed and have the tightest turn you can get . Its a slight bit easier if you fly on your side towards the turn , but that can also mess some people up.. As for hav, I think tbs Maddy is fine but the gunlogi could do with some work
