Spawncamping is 100% valid in PC... Anyone that gets spawncamped in PC should be ashamed of themselves, certainly if they allow it more than once...
In Pubs I find it distasteful though... I have been criticized by team members for hacking CRUs or popping enemy uplinks but it isn't my style to inflate my aweful KDR in this manner and it degrades my opinion of those that resort to to spawncamping in Pub matches...
FW- meh, I guess I consider it moderately valid since Factional is an elevated competition mode... When I was first FF ganked for hacking a camped CRU over a couple years ago, I was sooo enraged that I ran back to the CRU to hack it again and promptly was killed a second time... Nowadays If there is a risk that I will get FF killed for trying to save the opponents from this indecency, I think to myself "poor stoopid redberries" but often I will hack the CRU or kill the link and keep moving before someone tries to re-educate me on this aspect of the DUST mindset...
Be just and if you can't be just be arbitrary.

I remember a time when I caught so much flak for camping CRUs and advocating the camping of CRUs to punish idiots and here it has come full circle.

If you're dumb enough to spawn repeatedly on a camped CRU you deserve to die, I always wait a couple of seconds to see if someone spawns on the cru and if not I just procede to hack it. We all were new players at the beginning and we got over it, dust is a hard game as it is supposed to be although I must admit that farming uplinks or sitting the entire match in front of a CRU is scrubby

Campaign uplinks and cru is just bad form when playing in pubs I don't like to see it in fw but I won't fault it winning is actually important in that game mode and pc well anything goes scrubby or dirty tactics whatever will let you take or keep a district is all fare game.
Of course if I get tked in a fw I'll no longer care about the match I'll spend the remaining time hunting down and tking the perpetrator as many times as possible the kills don't show but the deaths do I'll mess up your sacred kdr and harvest your tears. |

I was put on the same team with a squad of 0.H and rexero teamkilled me as well when I tried to hack a railgun installation. However, I just put it off and didn't care about it and went on to take first place in the match.

Is this becoming a spawn camping discussion? I have a personal policy where it comes to spawn camping...If I think there's a reasonable chance that my team's going to need to win on clones, I'll do it. Otherwise I destroy the spawn and move on. Padding stats at the cost of pushing people away from the game isn't really worth it to me unless I need it for the W.

Is the issue not that some players exploit the fact that friendly fire is on to put there own agenda ahead of the teams?
Dirty tricks include killing you to nick your jeep/ tank/ dropship, distracting you with fire to steal your hack and wasting you for no reason...
none of which really helps the team.

For the most part I don't touch a CRU. it's a lousy 50 points for hacking and it's an extremely obvious place to spawn. Due to the up rise of uplinks from apex suits it's not even that important in terms of holding the objectives. CRU's used to be critical to a team winning the map, now their just something for bored tanks to blow up.
Imo there is almost no reason to look at a CRU unless there is nothing else to do in the area. 9/10 if you try to hack it alone your going to get shot in the back by some one spawning in, or just running by. If you think you have 'support' form your team their just campers looking for easy kills. And lastly like others have said sadly if you take away all the spawn points people give up to easily now.
For some reason people rather be spawn killed at a CRU than be forced to walk back from the starting point or put some uplinks down. In almost every pub match I join if I don't put uplinks down, no one does for my team.

I disagree with everything in this statement. Always spawn camp. Also the bit about you farming tears isn't plausible too.

@OP rexero like many others wanted easy kills, so he allows players to spawn in. I personally destroy all links but will not hack a CRU until i have killed a few enemies so i know they don't spawn whilst i hack, or until another blue aids me in controlling the CRU.
