So after trying out a bunch of officer stuff, and getting opinions from other guys on the weapons, I've come to a rather obvious conclusion.
There isn't that much variety in officer gear.
This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but seeing as a lot of these aren't getting traded, or bought instead of something else kind of makes the point that this needs some change.
Scrambler pistols:
After trying out both of these pistols, I can safely say I prefer the breach pistol over both of them, and there isn't even a proto variant of that. There are two reasons for this:
1) Way too much dispersion. Scrambler pistols are good in theory, if you can actually get them to hit the target in a fight.
2) No variety. Aside from the fire rate (and maybe clip size), the wolfmans and Kubos are pretty much the same in how they operate.
Solution: Keep the Kubos SCP the way it is, but lower the dispersion on it.
Make the Wolfmans the breach variant. While you're at it, can we have a proto breach pistol?
Up next is the SMGs:
The SMGs has pretty much the same problem. Aside from clip size, and damage per bullet, no real difference. Other than that, they're all amazing side arms. All they need is a little variety.
From what I see, I'd say this is the best option:
1)Keep Calas as is.
2) Keep Alex's clip size, increase it's ROF, lower damage slightly. So bascially an assault SMG.
3) Lower Balacs SMG ROF, increase damage greatly, lower clip size a little. A breach SMG basically. Also, increase drop rate if possible.
And now the last area that I think needs looking at. Plasma Rifles, or ARs.
This is another lack of variety issue. Well, that and anything other Kalantes just kind of sucks.
1) Keep Kalantes the same, it's a great weapon as is.
2) Change the Krins to a burst variant, and give it a little more damage, it just isn't worth running as is.
3) Remake the Balacs to a Breach variant, giving it a 40 round clip, and a crap ton more damage, but lower ROF.
Aside from these issues, I don't see many issues with other weapons, aside from being annoying, but that's what they're there for right?

Because that doesn't solve the problem of why should I run a Krins over a Kalante's. Or a Cala's over an Alex's.
But I do agree that there should be another weapon event... for vehicle users (my people  )
