I mean, we are all still humans in eve and dust right? So we must still need oxygen and water. Now I understand if we all have modified brows and stiff, but there should still be a need for a source of water and oxygen, something that isn't in space or on any planets, no? And, no more meat? No more delicious BBQ pork ribs???
So the million dollar question is- how are we still alive???
And as for us dust mercs, how pale are we? We don't get any sun time.

Well...one of The Amarr Empire's Major Exports is Amarrian Wheat, it's very popular...yes even amongst the Minmatar Republic. I imagine that Foodstuffs are major exports of almost any planet capable of sustaining flora and/or fauna. Numerous Stations in eve also have Exposed "Biodomes" with what appears to be "planetary" style cities built, with green fields surrounding them, not to mention the possibility of hydroponics for plant-based foods.
As for the issue of melanin and Vitamin D, combat clones are likely to be very pale, although there is no reason that melanin levels couldn't be artificially stimulated to produce more "normal" skin tones...vitamin D is more than likely taken in the same way as food, large supplements. As for Vanity clones for Empyreans and the state of Normals, it's highly likely that internal lighting aboard starships is specifically designed to mimic solar light, or food would have to have heavy levels of vitamin D laced in and/or supplements.
As for how the player characters are still alive without dying of starvation, thirst, etc. You don't micromanage absolutely everything your character does, so its more likely than not that they just eat off-screen, while you're logged out...or when you're not looking.

Well we're clones. We're not exactly 'human' in the traditional sense. Our bodies are artificial and manufactured. We don't have blood or bones. We run on nanites. I believe our skin is gray.

You sure about that? I'm 100% sure I see blood sometimes from my clone, usually when I die to combat rifles.

That really helps. Although I don't know how they can last so long without using the John. I have to go pee like 2x while I play.

Waste processing is probably built into the dropsuits...that's how I would do it, recycle as much as possible for the "long-term" deployments that Empyreans might have been used for. (Long-term is relative, considering the clone bodies on their own would die in only a few years, using of dropsuits decreases that to a few months...so long-term deployments would be maybe a few weeks to a month at a time).

There are tons more items like this.
As for our dust mercenaries we are not actually humans. Only our consciousness exists permanently meaning we have no actual body to need a tan. Our physical existence begins and ends each time we are transferred to a clone.

Firstly I'll address the pale skin aspect of cloning. Combat Clones like the ones we fight in are mass produced from very basic templates which are little more than meat sacks around the reinforced skeletons, lessened pain receptors, and dense sheathes of muscle. Our skin has no pigment.... or perhaps simply the minimal amount possible.
Clones are essentially 'born' or 'created' as featureless, hairless, albino biological weapons. Regardless of whether we want it or not our cloned body likely dies at the end of a conflict anyway and is harvested for its biomass. Remember spawning on a drop uplink irradiates even clones like us so badly we are left with advanced stages of cancer and horrific pain.
As for the other stuff my understanding is that the Capule provides all the life support services that a capsuleer could ever need regulating all bodily functions and ensuring direct neural connection into the ship itself.
As for clones..... I always liked the idea that Galm Fae presented that while fighting the best things we can hope to be eating are nasty flavourless mixes of bio-foam and nanite pastes to keep our bodies going.
Outside of Capsule and battle we can eat whatever the hell we want. BBQ Pork Ribs, Jin-Mei Honey Chicken Stir Fry, Amarrian Fried Rockfish, etc.

Considering the fact that we are clones. And clones have very short life cycles. And we make it even shorter by dying like every 60 seconds to a hmg or scrambler rifle. That makes most clones have an average life time of 2 minutes in battle. And the clone in hq might just live a little longer. Like whatever time it takes to get into a battle. Since if you go by eve logic as soon as you transfer out to another body the current one dies(if i paid attention to that chunk of text while i gave eve a shot) So we dont really have permanent bodies.
So i guees i can get as high on catnip as i want since ill be in a new body in 2 minutes.
Need a speedy bro scout? Mail me,comes with shotgun and 20 pound bag of catnip for teh clonocide.(teh fak, cannot spell)

Who pays the "extra crew" needed to operate a starship then? The EvE pages clearly state each ship is run by both a capsuleer and a crew to maintain it. Never heard of a corp going bankrupt because they built too large of a ship, then kept it in storage to eventually be overcome by maintenance fees either.
