- Assign a fixed number of clones that each player "brings" to a battle (10 clones, for example)
- Modulate clone counts based on the number of players on each side
- Modulate victory conditions based on the number of players on each side
For example: A public skirmish match is queued where Team A has 8 mercs, while Team B has 14 mercs. Thus, the clone count is 80 vs. 140. Because Team A has less than 10 mercs (10 mercs is a placeholder, nothing more), their victory condition becomes "Destroy X million ISK". Team B has more players, so their primary victory condition does not change. However, due to the lower clone count, they have a new secondary victory condition (That is much more attainable) - "Clone out the opposing team".

I am intrigued.
I am usually not intrigued. Please refine the concept so I can poke at it some.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

Hrmm, interesting idea.
Do the conditions change then if teams actually get filled in during a battle?

Can we get paid out the biomass value individually of our assigned clones if we don't use them all?

What happens if a player uses all of their brought clones? Do they start using the 40 provided? What happens when thise run out? Do they use another players or are they locked.out of battle?

Additionally, what happens when 4 players leave after using 9/10 of their clones, and get replaced by 4 more with 10 fresh clones each? Is it now 200vs240 clones? |

At best, it would still be 200 v 200, as leavers take unused clones with them. Not sure that 'reinforcements' should bring full clone amount or not.

I'm thinking on that as well

What if we let the MCC destruction be the limiting factor, and not worry about the clone count? Even if someone brought in more clones with them, it wouldn't matter if their team lost anyway
In pubs/FW, no one would willing pull out and sacrifice their end of battle rewards so the team can get more clones. So clone reinforcements wouldn't be a major issue.

Right - I use my clones and leave, no clones left to leave with me. So, what happens when the 'reinforcements' arrive? They bring more with? How about the original 40 buffer clones? First come / first served? I bring 10 clones and go 2/20 in battle, who pays the difference? Or, do I automatically get kicked for sucking so bad?
Also, not sure I like the idea of 'kill x amount of isk', unless you get a running tally with price tags on everyone, which would in turn further the lag-fest. Changing the mission is interesting, but such a drastic change seems quite odd. Interesting, but I see a lot of frustration trying to figure out what my mission is while people cycle through the roster. |

So lose the clone count and make it simply MCC Destruction mode. |

The game already keeps track of ISK destroyed, for calculating payouts. Shouldn't cause too much lag to add a cap to it.

Oh really? Like the way nobody pulls out now and sacrifices their end of battle rewards?

I meant having isk values on screen so we can see the progress, and possibly having each item priced so I can see at a glance which target I should focus on. Individual prices aren't really necessary, but at least some kind of running total. Even still, I'd be pretty pissed I I lost because scotty added that last player right as the thresholds are being reached. Lol

Players would be less inclined to cut and run if they had incentive to stick around, such as an increased payout or some sort of handicap (such as the change of mission objective)

That would be annoying but the total would, or should, be for ISK destroyed via termination. Besides, it could force the other side to run cheaper gear to stay in the fight.
