Hybrid - Blaster profociency change to +2% Damage to shields, +1% damage to armor per level
Hybrid - Rail proficiency changed to +2% damage to armor, +1% damage to shields per level

also a small buff to the AR in the current armor meta.

I like it. The change to proficiency sucked to begin with.

That could work. Would help shields out a little as well as buff the AR slighty.

+20 -5 would make blasters more unique, currently +25 -10 is alittle too close to laser weapons to make this damage type unique

I like it but that's already enough of a buff to the AR to deal with armor, so no need for another buff unless shields also get buffed as it would already be doing more then enough damage to shields its only lacking when dealing with armor

shields would need a buff regardless

otherwise i agree, see how the AR performs with this then buff if needed.

I'm pretty sure the Hybrid in the names refers to the technologies at work...... not the state of relative damage equivalence across armour and shields.....

"A Hybrid Turret is a turret which utilizes a magnetic field to fire a charge at extremely high velocity at a target. Hybrid turrets are relatively advanced weapons, and require energy to operate (though they consume less capacitor than Amarrian Lasers). Hybrid turrets are notable in the fact that they are the most widely used type of turret in the universe - they are the primary weapon of the Gallente, and many Caldari ships also eschew missiles in favor of Railguns.

As with all turrets, Hybrid turrets are available in both short ranged and long ranged variations, with blasters and railguns performing these functions, respectively."

i realise that hybrid get their name from their ammunition, among other things, but they also deal generalist damage types that are ok but not great and poor but not awful against their strong and weak HP types, respectively. The problem here is that profciency in dust takes these generalist damage types and makes them into more specialist damage types.

a good example would be projectiles vs. rails.

 Currently, with proficiency 5:
 Projectiles are -15 +30
 Rails are -10 +25
5% on both ends isnt very meaningful.

With my proposal rails would be -5 +20 with full proficiency, which would help further differentiate these damage types.

In the current armor meta, it would also be a minor buff to the AR and a minor nerf to the RR (and BP) which im sure many people agree isnt a negative.

The bonuses are not added together. They are multiplied together.

So the end result is not, for example:

 100 * (1.1 + 1.15) = 125

 It is:

 100 * 1.1 * 1.15 = 126.5

You never ADD percentage values together before you multiply them in a CCP game. You will always get an incorrect value.

so then the values would be 121% and 94.5% to strong and weak damage types, respectively? (With my proposal)

Ive been using an AR and PLC galmando and this seriously seems like an easy, minor buff to some currently lacking plasma weapons
