As far as I know CCP has yet to reveal anything or even give a clue about what will be purchaseable with this DK... so what do you think they'll put in this currently useless DK store? I was thinking that using it to restock your PC fits without spending ISK would be very useful to make PC more profitable but that's just a small thought that crossed my mind and it couldn't be limited to this since it's a 'store'. Also is it known of when the update is supposed to be dropped? Like in Warlord 1.3 or something

Well, here's the thing. There really isn't much they can do with it.
Option 1: Stock it full of stuff that's already on the market. This would be bad because it'd be just another currency to juggle around when making fits and I know sure as hell that if the DK market is just a copy/paste of the already existing market I'm going to be very disappointed, personally. I already have issues with restocking when it comes to LP and Aurum items hybridized with ISK stuff.
Option 2: Stock it with unique stuff that is powerful (like 'officer' modules or something) This would be bad because it'd create a positive feedback loop. Players would play PC, get DK, spend that DK on progressively better items.... with which to play (and win) more PC, and get more DK. It'd effectively make entities already in PC extremely powerful and they'd be able to keep their power because of the difficulty involved in players combating them for a foothold in PC.
Option 3: Cosmetic options and otherwise non-gameplay changing stuff Exclusive SKINs and the like. I know a lot of PC players would be very disappointed with this because they want that in-game advantage but honestly it's probably the only way that CCP can go about it without causing issues with Option 1 or 2.
That's my thinking, anyway. But the 'refresh' option on the market UI for the DK Market is intriguing, to say the least. I'm wondering how useful that mechanic will be, if it is useful at all.
Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing something akin to Eve Online's Boosters. Temporary bonuses to different things (damage, rate of fire, magazine count, etc) that are very very expensive and something that you'd want to hold onto for a rainy day. Like, if you know you're going to fight that corp that is extremely hard to win against and you need just -a little extra performance- out of the deal. Just a spitballed idea though.

That's totally the issue with this but if it's to totally restock your PC fits then I wouldn't mind it

While this would be quite risky because it would make the gap between enstabilished corps and upcoming corps even further, on the other hand it would boost PC competition and grinding, that is if these modules wouldn't be extremely powerful but just give a percentage of advantage to proto modules
It certainly is the safest but something actually useful is required.

To cost only 20 DK I don't think it'll be much useful but it'd already be something

That's a cool idea but it would make for other 'balance' agony and stuff if it applies to pubs All in all both 3 options has its pros and cons... problem is leaving it to CCP

Can't agree with you there. With the DK weekly cap, this would be easy to control and limit the amount of gear you could obtain. That said, I don't expect gear like officer (unless it comes with an insanely high cost) but gear just slightly better than proto.
I'm sorry but skins just aren't going to create any sort of draw to want to do PC. Open up trading on DK items and everybody will get a slice of that pie. |

I think option 2 is viable if we rework how landholding works. Make attacks only possible to districts nearby, and have moderate penalties to taking clones to a different planet, and massive penalties to going to a new solar system. This makes holding land near each other much more logistically profitable, and means a new corp can find a nice unconquered corner of Molden Heath to own without worrying about the big boys stomping them out immediately.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

Heres a few ideas that I think would be cool. .1isk modifier that increases payout by 1-3 percent not allot .2 sp modifier again 1-3 percent gained. .3 market sales modifier something along the lines of jara maing it cheaper to buy gear and sell gear only temporary n minor percentage. Now reasoning for all these being low is primarily due to fact its rewarding but cannot and shouldnt be unfair to community not Interested in pc

I would like to see CCP use a tactic from other already established MMOs, putting items in the DK store that only have an effect while in PC battles items that increase or buff stats, buff squad stat, buff skills in the proximity of others, etc. Modules that can only work while in PC would prevent abuse in pub games, which would further increase the gap between already established corps while in the general population. Basically PVP meta only items of some type.

Sounds to me they would be better off put specialist weapons in there, but if that was to happen that would effect fw quiet badly

What if dk store is stocked with material to craft with. If simple crafting becomes available, It would be plenty incentive to make me want to play PC. |
